We came first to Roastery on Tran Phu street with a group of ten at 21.30. Staff refused serving as they said they did not have enough coffee to serve and told us to be on Hai Ba Trung street, their 2nd one. We did come to the 2nd one at 21.35, no one told us that they close at 22.00. We sat down and ordered stuffs, they did quickly and got back to us to say: "In 3 minutes, we will close". All of us were so surprised cause haven't finished our coffees yet. The atmosphere was okay. However, they should inform guests before deciding enter or not. The prices are abit higher than normal.

To preface this review, let me just address the obvious; I bloody love coffee. It's just swell. But having been in Vietnam for a week or two I have found that I can't take the local brews. I usually take it black (like my man) and Vietnamese black coffee is super strong and like syrup, and would make Italian espresso drinkers screw up their face like a baby eating a lemon.

Anyway, the roastery's coffee is a beautiful return to my coffee-drenched life - well balanced, properly brewed, and locally sourced.
Recommended - try the syphon brew.

We have been here twice now during our stay. Both times we could not fault the service or the products. There is a nice coffee menu as well as light meals and snacks.

There's two floors here, you can sit indoors downstairs or head up to the covered terrace. We came twice and sat in both areas, both are lovely, relaxed and comfortable but personally I preferred the terrace.
The vibe is very chilled and while the service on both occasions was quite slow, you get the feeling that's how it's meant to be. People sit with coffees, fresh juices and books for hours and the staff don't rush anybody.
We had juices, sandwiches and a cheeky dessert, everything was wholesome, fresh and delicious. For a lighter lunch this is perfect. For 2 fresh juices, a tea, 2 sandwiches (and 2 desserts - shhhh), the bill came to about £20gbp which is slightly more expensive than other places but still amazing value for wholesome, healthy food - not to mention the quality cold-pressed juices.
