Room is pretty decent if you don't mind the occasional cockroach (seriously, we had big cockroaches climbing the curtains). Bathroom was poor and shabby. Much paint peeling from the walls and a dodgy shower. It's kinda like the bathroom you'd find in a grotty bedsit.

Contrary to some other reviews, I found the staff to be deeply unpleasant. They look at you as if they wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire. Breakfast wasn't that great, except for the omelets which were very nice.

It's a terrible hotel, and I genuinely hope that anyone who winds up in the beautiful town of HoiAn finds themselves a nice hotel, of which there are many at far better prices. This place will probably taint your trip.

My boyfriend and I stayed here three night. Not sure why it has so many bad reviews as it's the best hotel for an affordable price we've had so far over our 1 month stay in Vietnam. The bed is super comfy which is what I personally opt for, super clean and spacious room with garden balcony. Great service too as we are allowed to use swimming pool and nice shower inside while we wait for our night bus to our next destination. Definitely worth 25 dollars. Good location too. It is a family hotel so don't expect quiet morning with kids roaming around the pool. Buffet breakfast too. And the bed just wow.

- Could walk into the old town and nearby restaurants easily. Rooms were a high quality.

- Staff was friendly and very quick to help out for anything.

- You can't pay for your room by card. We didn't realise this until we had to check out and made it a rush to get cash. Seriously don't think it is acceptable for a hotel not to accept card. There are three ATMs nearby but two were not working and the third charged a fee.

- Got woken up at 6:30am because of people playing loudly in the courtyard pool. Even on the second floor the sound was loud. There should be enforced quiet hours given the acoustics courtyard.

- Breakfast was very good. Delicious bacon and lots of fresh fruit. The juice was pretty bad though.

It is a good location close to the Old Town and has a nice breakfast. However, some of the decor is getting a bit tired and sometimes the staff are not as helpful as they should be.Saying that as I had a early flight from Ho Chi Minh they let me check in early without question.

This was a nice hotel that was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the historic center to be peaceful but not so far away that you have to walk far for all the fun stuff. Just across the main road from the Historic center of Hoi An, the Serene Hotel is nestled on a block of hotels, restaurants and spas. The hotel has spare but well priced rooms on three levels. Many of the rooms on the back side of the hotel face a pond that I imagine must cause some bug problems during the year but was not a problem during our stay. The hotel has breakfast with toast, juice, fruit, made-to-order eggs and cereal every morning. Also, they have a few bikes available for guests which we used to ride to the beach. The staff was very attentive during our stay and we were quite pleased. This hotel is a good value.
