This was ok but purely set up for tourists and quite pricey for drinks/snacks. Pleased we only had lunch there as nothing much to see, if part of a tour it’s ok but I wouldn’t make the effort to go there if not.

We visited the floating island as part of a larger tour. Thankfully we didn't eat there having read the other reviews. The place looked dirty, the people were unwelcoming and just glared at you. We couldn't wait to leave.

Visited Koh Panyee, the floating muslim village. Booked a tour including some islands and Koh Panyee. The main reason we booked this tour was to see a village on stilts and the soccer ground and see the way they live. Upon arrival could not believe what we saw. A restaurant area that seats 3000 people per day!!! This is not a village! This is overcommercialization at its worst. We were then taken through a shopping area!! What!! this is not a village. The people who live there do not look you in the eye. No words were spoken, no smiles, just blank faces. Felt like i should not be there but they want the money from the tours visiting. Then we went walked through the "shopping centre" and then we came to a school where you can buy for the underprivilaged "children" a jar of wafer biscuits for 100 baht!! Then out to see the soccer ground on stilts for a couple of minutes and then have lunch which was nothing special. Rice, 2 main dishes, Yum Tom soup, and fish. Do not go on any of the tours that leave at 8.30am as you will be with hundreds and hundreds maybe thousands of people and it is not a relaxing day. There are operators that leave at 6.00am they are more expensive but worth getting up early for. If i was on a late 8.30am start my day would have been even worse with the huge crowds. You cannot go to see the mosque or the hospital or their houses. Not to even look at from the outside. It seems "the village" is no longer a village. Instead an investment in tourism. What a shame:-(

Had a stop at this “floating village” during a Phang Nga Bay boat tour. The restaurant was awesome (included in our boat tour, so don’t know the prices). They kept bringing us food and everything was Thai and so delicious. Caters to tourists, I think any boat tour with any company likely brings you here, but that’s okay. The village itself is very interesting to explore. They thrive on tourism for sure. Lots of stalls and vendors, they are not as pushy as other markets places we have been. Beautiful mosque on the island. Be sure to google the you tube video about the history of their soccer field. Neat and touching story!
