We discovered Jeju Mokgwan (the Governors historical admin center) when we drove past it then walked to it from our hotel. Of all the places we visited in Jeju City, it was our favorite. Most of the signage included English translations of how Jeju-do was run in the past. The buildings are well restored, pieces of art. Very relaxing. There were also ancient games for children. The venue seemed to be set up mostly for locals for who this venue is free. Foreigners enter for a nominal fee.

Personally I find this place to be one of the most undervalued sights in Jeju. Mokwana represents the historic administrative center in the oldest part of Jeju City. The place is not large yet has a lot to show with stories at every corner. It takes only about half an hour from the airport and it took us about an hour to get around once inside. They have nominal admission fee (~ 1.4USD) and it was worth. The only complaint is that some of the labels for exhibits were provided only in Korean.
