Description: Ernest Hemingway's 1952 novel The Old Man and the Sea depicts the world of a poor Cuban fisherman who fights the wild sea. These elements of sea, fish and noble nature have also inspired the establishment of the well-known restaurant on Jaffa's Kedem Street - The Old Man and the Sea.

Great location with great vibe and amazing food. The fishes are fresh and taste great. The place is really packed but you don’t really feel like it’s over crowded.

Having only half a day to spend in Tel Aviv at the e d of a trip to Israel a d Jorda , we decided to make the most of it, so we walked from our hotel, Diszengoff 208, to the old city of Jaffa, it is there that we found The old man and the sea, a very popular restaurant. Since it was Passover week, it was a holiday period a d there were lots of people in the streets and at the beach (although it was cold for April) but we had no problem getting a table. As soon as we were seated, warm bread was served, then 2 minutes later our server arrived with no less than 15 little bols full of the most delicious mezze we ever had and a pitcher of delicious lemonade. Main courses were also served quickly, whole fish, enormous steaks or grilled shrimps and calamari for 114 NIS each, so around 40 $ CAN each. We ended our meal with a plate of very sweet watermelon, so good and so fresh! What a memorable way to end a memorable trip!

The place is famous of dozens of tapas-like appetizers landing on your table upon arrival. Very simple food, full of Mediterranean flavors and an atmosphere of time travel...

Our first night in Tel Aviv and we took a cab to this delightful neighbourhood restaurant! 22 dishes of salads and veggies arrive before they say hello! We had the White Sea Corvina following those salads and it fed three people. The fish was fantastic. Our two servers were so sweet and attentive. Could not have asked for better!

Even before we had a chance to look at the menu, our table was covered by over 15 plates of salads and other appies. All delicious and paired with soft home-made pita and the most amazing lemonade I've every had. It was a wide menu but seafood is a must.
