Overall was great with the heritage environment (building location per owner almost 400 years - building accommodation did re-renovate)
Breakfast = homemade style
Friendly service
Fair price
May choose this when you at Ubud

We stayed in one of the royal rooms at Lilacita Inn.

Pros:

Great value for money
Room is incredibly spacious (huge!) and the bed is really comfy
Generous breakfasts - the banana pancakes are delicious
You can easily rent a scooter from David, the host. The bike and helmets we had were in good condition and made it really easy to get around.
David is fantastic to deal with and will go out of his way to help you.
Good wifi

Cons

The room was clean but the kitchen and bathroom needed a good scrub, especially the bath and bathroom sink which were badly stained.
There are quite a few roosters outside the Royal room, so it’s incredibly noisy. The roosters start crowing at about 4am and continuing crowing right through until mid-morning. It does get annoying sometimes.

Overall, if I was basing this review on the service alone it would easily be a 5 star rating. Thanks David, it was a pleasure to meet you!

However, taking the cons listed into account, I give it 3 stars due to the condition of the bathroom and the roosters, but I will also give it an additional star due to the price/value for money. So 4 stars overall.

One more quick point:

I note one of other reviews says this is on an unsafe, narrow, congested street. I don’t agree. It is a normal Balinese street (which commonly have uneven footpaths). It is not one of the main roads in town so is not as congested as some of the other streets in Ubud.

Final tip: I highly recommend hiring a scooter from Lilacita Inn rather than walking around Ubud. You can walk around, but it’s a bit of a hassle compared to the scooter.

Room Tip: If you don't want to be woken up by roosters, don't stay in the Royal Room

Our super deluxe room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. Finding a room this spacious anywhere in SE Asia isn't easy in this price range. I particularly liked the spacious bathroom and the comfy bed. The location is also nice... just far enough away from the main street to be quiet at night while also being close enough to walk to the main areas for food/drinks when we wanted. The walk back to the hotel after dinner was a nice way to end the evenings and the street always felt very safe.
We had some issue with noisy neighbors on a couple of nights. The walls/windows don't do much to filter our noise from neighbors. This is, obviously, no fault of Lilacita... but it's something to be wary of if you are sensitive to noise.
Wifi is strong when it's there. The router was having connection issues on a couple of nights during our week here, but it wasn't overly problematic.
Breakfast is good (selection of eggs, toast, pancakes, fruit, etc) and was delivered to our patio each morning. I wish there was a little more variety in the selection, but for a free breakfast, we really couldn't complain.
The family that runs the place is great. Very friendly and they were quick to address any problems we were having. They even helped us get a great driver to take us around the island for most of the week.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel and I would consider staying here again in the future. For the price, I can't imagine there'd be many better options.

After looking for weeks through the masses of accommodation in Ubud, decided on Lilacita Inn. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The host Agung & his family are very friendly & super helpful. As there wasn't a pool we decided to book the Royal room as it has a half outdoor bathroom with large bath. The room or shall I say suite is fantastic, spacious & modern inside (the doorway is beautifully carved). Its a fantastic open planned room with small garden alcoves to let light in. There is a pond with a very curious turtle who keeps an eye on what you're upto!! Outside you can relax on the chairs on the porch & for breakfast( if in first) you can eat in a gorgeous hut in the courtyard garden. Breakfast is a nice selection of eggs or bananna pancakes with coffee/ juice. The room is remade everyday. There is a kitchen (minius cooking pots, but just ask for). We ate out as there is such a choice in Ubud. Agung recommended his friends Warung Garasi which was great. Really cool fit-out with Vespas & even to sit on at the bar. Nice local food & great price. (2x mains AU$4 total)

Any advice or tips have a chat with Agung. You can hire a scooter from him or if into walking, around the corner (up Suweta take first left on Jl Kajeng) walk to end on the right is the Prince of Ubud's palace which is amazing....keep walking past & you can walk through the rice fields (bit tricky, but walk straight through as best as you can) you get to Rice lane walkway. It's a nice walk & you end up down in Ubud.

My favourite aspect at the inn was "Boy" the cutest & friendly 3/4 dachshund, as I have a miniature dachshund we made friends quickly & he was a welcomed visitor at our room. The other furry there is "Happy" the dog, not to mention the birds & fish. Plenty of animals to say hello to. Overall it was my favourite part of our Bali trip. SO much to see & do in Ubud & loved staying in a traditional homestay. We were even lucky enough to be invited to the familys temple for its "birthday" & get blessed. Agung & his family are fantastic hosts & cannot recommend enough. We love Lilacita Inn!!~

This homestay is a quaint, traditional Balinese property. It is one of many in the street and in Ubud. The road outside is very congested and unsafe to walk on. Footpaths are often broken and obstructed and the walk to town took us 25 minutes. Walk to Bali Buda took 35 mins. It is uphill on the walk back to the homestay. Transfer cost $5.00 from Ubud Perama to homestay by car. Our room no. 2 was quiet and comfy. Bed ok and although hot water took 10 mins to warm up, it was hot when finally came through. Absentee staff and no internet for 50% of our stay. A satisfactory stay.
