We visited the branch beside Ubud Palace. Service is fast. But food is underwhelming. We ordered Babi Guling (IDR 55,000) but the Philippine lechon is more tasty and crispy. Nothing spectacular about this dish.

Well, reading some of the reviews here, I get the feeling people sometimes miss the point. This is basic cafe style dining, not local style exactly, but not far from it. The food is not steaming hot, but warm. The "special" which we always order, like many people has the same thing in it every time I go to Ubud. Roast suckling pork slices, which are always tender, tasty and moist; blood sausage, which I don't usually eat, fried pork, a crunchy deep fried dish with delicious spices in the coating, our favourite bit; perfect steamed white rice; vegetable lawar, a ceremonial dish of chopped veggies with shredded coconut and spices. And yes, it's served efficiently (service is usually pretty slow in Bali, so it feels like lightning). Tourist trap or not, even with prices this year up to 55,000IDR for the special, I reckon my $AUD5.50 is far better spent here than at that well known "Scottish burger restaurant".

I've been here because my friend told me that the restaurant is famous.
The food is a little bit overprice, and the taste is nothing special. The suckling pig doesn't taste that good.
Will never go to this place again

Was intrigued by the stories i've heard about Ibu Oka, being the best in Ubud to serve babi guling.

First attempt to visit was a fail as i didnt know that they only serve lunch, not dinner. Then we tried again on another day. Went early (11am) and plenty of seats available. So it was almost a success.

Ordered. Got our food. I think my friend didnt really enjoyed the food (a bit picky i guess), while me, being the expetimental one, was up for anything. Willing to try local food, and see what it was all about.

To my opinion, it was just fine. Probably because it was a tough competition where we have our own version back home in Philippines (which i think is better, or maybe i'm just biased or used to our version). But if you want to try something local and "famous", i guess it's worth the visit. The place has made its way there for a reason. So why not try it?! It's not expensive anyway, just right.

Was looking for a meal of suckling pig so was brought here by friends, service was fast, the beers weren't as cold as I like and the meal was OK.
It came with a soup, the pig was tender the chilli was hot. There was more rice than anything else. We had 1 coconut drink 3 beers 2 juices and 3 serves of babi guling for $30AU. It was cheap enough and we were full as far as memorable or definitely visit again I doubt it.
