It was our second visit to Three Monkeys, the first in 2015. The ambience is wonderful, the view amazing and the food simply mouthwatering.
I highly recommend the Rendang which flakes off and melts in your mouth.
The service was also topnotch with service staff constantly smiling and patiently explaining to you the different dishes.
Arrive early or make reservations to avoid any disappointment.

We were really looking forward to having lunch at this restaurant. Nice surrounds and a good selection. Was let down by poor service. They forgot our drinks. We were being served our food as the drinks finally arrived. Not good. Food was good but the drinks having gone missing and the waiter basically tellng us that our drinks order was complicated was a lie. Would have been happy to tell me that he forgot, but lying, sorry!

The meal at Three Monkeys was the only time we were disappointed with food during our 3 stay in Bali. We travelled most of the island by motorbike and ate at both high end and budget places, always satisfied with the food.

The food here was nothing to come back for. The starters we took were blend. We had the dates, spinach and feta cheese spring rolls and the fried cheese ravioli.

Mains we had pasta and again we were disappointed. One thing we really did not appreciate is when the waitress took away our starter plates...she removed our used cutlert which were on the plate and put them back on the cloth plate mats for us to re use for the main course.

Now i don't mind that happening in budget restaurants but you won't expect this in an elegant restaurant like this. Apart from this, if anything when this happens, the waiter always informs us.

So bottom line it's a restaurant i would recommend for the ambience but not for the food. This is obviously a personal experience. The warm welcome of the staff is something to commend as well.

Just finished eating here. We had looked forward to it after reading the loads of good reviews on this site. However, I guess dinner at Hujan Locale the night before spoiled us.

Ambiance of the restaurant was quite good, set in a rice field.

We had the duck spring rolls (these were good), the zucchini and pea salad with Parmesan and whipped lemon ricotta dressing (fresh although the dressing was too little), the seasoned chicken pizza (mediocre at best), and the beef goreng ( decent version but meat was a bit tough and I've had better). Overall, 6/10. If you only have one night in ubud, try hujan locale.

Had heard good things so we wanted to try this place. It was disappointing. They completely forgot our drinks order so after sitting there for 20 minutes with everyone around us getting drinks and food we asked for them. Another 10 minutes went by and we got our meals. Our drinks then came. No apology, no explanation. When I queried this I was told that they take a long time to make! Nope- we had basic drinks while other tables had complicated ones. Food was good but service was appalling. Prices are higher than other olaces. Can do much better in Ubud. Wouldn't go back.
