I had the pleasure of cycling with Bagi and Wayan near Ubud early February on a warm Sunday morning (no rain despite rainy season). Pickup from hotel was on time, bike good quality and helmet provided. We cycled through rice paddies and I learned about rice farming, crop rotation, typical fauna and a bit about farmers' way of life. After a short, but very interesting break at a coffee plantation with insights on coffee production in general and luwak coffee in particular, we continued our tour along the Ayung river and through the rain forest before the reached Bagi's home where his wife offered yummy lunch. Due to some uphill sections the tour is a bit more challenging than the typical vanilla downhill routes that many operators offer, but it's easily doable for people who regularly cycle similar distances with a few ups and downs.
