A vacation in India is not complete without visiting the majestic Taj Mahal. It is totally worth getting up early and visit for sunrise! Also good investment to get a local photographer who knows all the best spots!

This was the highlight of our trip to India. What a magnificent building and one that should not be missed, make sure you have plenty of time to take it all in & enjoy. Parked in the car park then caught an electric car to the Taj Mahal, as they are trying to protect the building. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens that are very well kept, huge dahlias in bloom, a flower you do not see often. A photographers paradise here, and especially when you have your photo sitting on the famous Lady Di seat - magic! Very disappointed inside the tomb, as we were advised that photos were not allowed, but all the locals were taking photos, and the staff were not stopping them. We visited in the afternoon and took beautiful photos. Can certainly see why it took 22 years to build this magnificent monument.

No matter how many pictures or movies you have seen of the Taj, when you walk through the main entrance you will be taken aback by the beauty it has to offer. Highly recommend going very early, 6am, to get there for sunrise. Definitely get a guide to explain the history and significance of the palace.
