The area inside the Clock Tower market is packed with color, particularly in the late afternoon. The colorfully draped women of Jodhpur come out in pairs or packs to bargain over bangles spread out on blankets, or cloth goods sold from carts. None of them seemed to be buying essentials— I think it is their form of entertainment.

Be discreet. Find a corner to perch and snap away. You will be amazed.

If you are ready for an intense, fast-paced market place, you might enjoy this market. Be careful of scams and inflated prices as these are just as much a part of the Clock Tower market area as the merchandise. Near the Blue City Market which gets fewer tourists.

This clock tower is located at old Jodhpur city and is in middle of a busy market. It was constructed in 1910 by the king and costed 300K rupees at that time. There are four levels in the clock tower and we can go till the top. There is a nominal fee (10 rupee) for Indian citizens to enter inside. You can go till 3rd floor using the concrete stairs. To go to fourth floor once has to take the steel stairs, which are very narrow. At the top inside the clock tower you'll find an old man Mr Mohd Iqwal, who is running this clock tower from years. He'll give you the quick demonstration how this clock works (do tip generously).

From the third floor of the clock tower one can get the clear view of the market surrounding it, I find it bit amusing to see all the chaos running around this tower. As being part of the old Jodhpur city, roads are very narrow. traffic jam is a common thing here, and so many merchants with lots many peoples all over this place. There is a local handicraft market just next to the tower, you can get some very good deals here. I found the prices reasonable, though bargain is needed. Also you'll get the full view of Mehrangarh fort from the top of clock tower, which is nice.

I would recommend going to the top of clock tower as it will give you chance to see the old city in different perspective.
