Carrying some local snack and food item from the place we visited has became part of our habit. When we visited Pune, we wanted to carry some Bhakarwadi which is a local speciality. On asking for a reliable shop where we would get it, we were directed to “CHITALE BANDHU MITHAIWALA”. It is situated on the junction of Bajirao Rd, and one can not miss it. This is the name suggested by almost everyone, as most authentic Maharastrian one.
The outlet is crowded but the disposal is very systematic. Bhakarwadi, was our main target, and was a tested snacks. Rest of the items sold were almost unknown to us. We went on asking about each and every item, though it was a cumbersome process . Ultimately we went for Bhakarwadi, a salty snack, besan laddu, also a known sweet, and satori a Maharastrian sweet.
Describing taste is not my forte, but inflow of continuous local crowd, proves its authenticity. I can only say we enjoyed it very much.
NB: there is no scope for eating inside.
