Terrible Ending - BE CAUTIOUS

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 21, 2024
I will start with the positive. The staff around the pools were fantastic and the grounds are kept very well.

This resort is spoilt by "Management". We saw team meetings with the entertainment staff where they were being yelled at and managers clearly belittling their staff who are doing a fantastic job working long hours and always keeping a happy vibe.

The holiday came to a horrific ending. We had two swim up rooms which we left within half hour of our coach arriving. As the coach puled up Ibrahim from reception aggressively accused us of "stealing a remote control" and demanded 80 dollars. Clearly a set up as we DID NOT watch their dated televisions during our stay nor did we move or touch the remotes. Ibrahim was surrounded by at least 6 men - staff and security. He was unable to tell us which room the missing control was out of the two just kept spitting that the 'cleaner reported it'. We were never politely asked to check if we had accidentally swept a control into our luggage it was a direct YOU STOLE FROM THE HOTEL 80 dollars or your coach is not leaving. There was no reasoning and we were not going to hold up a coach full of people wanting to get home and missing flights would cause more hassle than 80 dollars. Where in the world a remote control costs this is beyond me too. A money making racket by greedy management. When we returned to the UK of course we did not have a remote control in the luggage because the whole thing was a menacing timed set up. We left more than 80 dollars in tips for the cleaner for both rooms it is a tragic ending.

If you are travelling to this hotel I recommend before leaving your room video everything - I am certain this would not have helped us as they were not asking us they were TELLING us to pay up and surrounding our coach.

Sadly this was a very shortsighted ploy as I will never recommend this hotel to any friends or family and we will never return.
Date of stay: April 2024
Room Tip: Mosquitos will eat you alive so be prepared. Video your room when you leave.

First of all, I'll get this out of the way... objectively this is a great hotel. If you're coming here as a family you'll love it.

First impressions were excellent, we arrived just before tea time and reception were great at check in, well organised and very friendly ️

Staff - without doubt they are the most impressive thing about the hotel. To a man, they were all wonderful. So happy, friendly and always helpful. The hotel should be commended on putting together such a great team.

Room - we booked a swim up room and it was lovely. A great size. Huge super king size bed and a single for our daughter. Large bathroom with walk in shower. Walk in wardrobe. Water in the room, fridge with tea & coffee making facilities. Good size balcony with gate opening out onto our private pool - not heated but as it's breaking through 30⁰c every day this is not a problem at all, it's nice to have a quiet cool pool to jump into.

Restaurants - You can't expect fine dining at these places so as long as you don't expect Gordon Ramsey cooking your meals you'll do ok.

The main buffet serves breakfast, lunch and tea. There's plenty of choice and you'll find something that you'll enjoy. Fresh cooked omelettes, eggs & bacon in the morning is a nice touch. Each night has a different theme so it does get a nice mix over course of a week. Plenty of salads etc and all the brightly coloured cakes you could ever want for desert.

There's 4 A la Carte restaurants (Indian, Oriental, Mediterranean and American Diner). All are nice change away from the hustle of the buffet. The food is good (the Indian was my personal favourite - the vindaloo was fantastic). As my wife and daughter are both vegetarian they would have preferred a bit more choice for them. The A la Cartes are part of the all inclusive and you can go to each once per week. Booking is done via some giant touch screens that are dotted around the reception area. You can book 48 hours in advance.

Pool & bar areas - all spotlessly clean and plenty of space. It's not very busy at this time of year and you'll have no problems getting sun loungers. Bar staff will come and serve you drinks at your loungers always with a smile on their face. Very relaxing all round.

Entertainment - There's music & games by the pool during the day if you want to get involved but it's not over the top with crazy loud music (there is a quiet pool if you want avoid it though). Night time there's a mini disco for the kids, a music/dancing show and a singer in the upstairs bar. If anything, these are the hotel's weak spot, the shows are pretty generic and don't have much wow factor. When we were there, the shows were done inside but there is an amphitheatre near the main pool so maybe they do them out there during the summer and the shows might be more impressive if done in that setting.

Tipping - as there's so many staff I was a bit unsure how to go about tipping. Normally I'd wait til the end of the holiday and slip the waiter/barman/housekeeping a few quid but in this case as you're dealing with different people all the time I didn't think that would work. We brought a load of £1 coins with us so every couple of rounds of drinks by the pool I slipped the waiter a quid and it seemed like it a good balance.

Water Park - as part of the package you can access the hotel across the road to use the water park (in return, they can use our beach). Managing expectations, it's not huge and if you'd paid for a day out to it you'd probably be disappointed. That said, as it's costing you nothing extra it's perfectly acceptable. Has sone decent slides and is pretty good fun for the afternoon to break up your time around the pool. There's also a you lad who will help stop the traffic to let you cross the road - there's a pedestrian crossing but it is a busy road and it was a nice touch. I tipped him on the way back.

All that said, it's not perfect and there are areas for improvement.

The kids club. Our daughter went once and luckily she made some friends who she played with for the rest of the holiday. Unfortunately the club itself seems like a bit of an after thought in comparison to the rest of the hotel. It seems pretty short on resources and in comparison to ones we've seen elsewhere that had full daily itineraries published and additional activities (such as sand castle building and painting T Shirts & beach bags) it could definitely do with some work.

Photography - I'll preface this by saying that I'm not sure this is directly the hotel's responsibility. The photo stall is probably a concession on the site. Of all the things we experienced here, this was the biggest disappointment. The photographer came round the pool and booked us in for an evening photoshoot which we were happy to do. He was very friendly and had no concerns until we went to see him at his stall later to view the photos. We sifted through the many shots he'd taken and we chose some that we were happy with. After some back and forth we agreed for a £100 package of digital and physical prints. This was after he offered various photo books and canvas prints costing several hundred pounds. Bearing in mind this is a professional photographer sat at a computer with a nice big screen and good quality editing software installed, we had the expectation of him doing some post processing on the images before he gave us the final ones. When I went to see him to get the prints, it was clear he'd just printed them straight from the camera and most of them were under exposed. Bearing mind the shoot was done at dusk, the amount of shade across our faces in some shots is to be expected but nothing that a few clicks in Lightroom wouldn't fix. As someone who does photography as a hobby I'm very familiar with the fundamentals and understand that editing is equally as important and getting good shots in the first place. When I raised my concerns with the photographer, in fairness he did say he'd reprint some more for me. Unfortunately when I collected them, again he'd just printed the raw images again. Honestly this is disappointing. As a photographer, certainly one selling the images, I would have thought he'd take a bit more pride in his work. I'm just glad we didn't opt for one of the more expensive packages. If you're staying here, don't waste your money on a photo shoot here. We did some trips and there were guys taking pictures (boat trip and quad bikes in the desert) and they would sell you everything they took for £20 (after a bit of haggling). Even with no editing I feel that's a fair price and I'd recommend you go with that of you really want someone taking your photos.

Those couple of quibles aside, they did not detract from a fantastic stay at the hotel. We would wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone wanting to visit Sharm el Sheik. Thank you to everyone who made our time there so memorable

Room tip: Don't book trips through TUI. There's plenty of shops on the road outside offering excursions (we used Falcon across the road and they offer very good value)

We have just returned from a weeks holiday and what a lovely time we had.

We had booked 2 rooms, one Family Suite and Deluxe room. On arrival we were kindly told that they had upgraded the Deluxe Room to a Family Den room, so that the two rooms could be close together. This was a lovely surprise and whilst there was no need for the Den Room in the 2nd Room, it was lovely that Nanny and Grandpa could be close to us and the children could easily get to their room.

The only reason I can't give this hotel 5 stars, is because the rooms are very much starting to show their age. In all honesty they need to start closing down sections of the rooms and refurbishing them. Our room had stains and marks that were so old, no amount of cleaning would ever get them off. The bath leaks like a sieve and you end up using all your towels to stop it flooding the bathroom. The AC is hit and miss as to what temperature you may get. We had our part set at 20 and the childrens at 24, and neither got anywhere near that. All the mastic around the room is failing, they are just in desperate need of being redone. I don't imagine the hotel will be doing anything any time soon as they have such an influx of guests who continue to rate the hotel well.

The only other downside to our stay was beach towels. At previous hotels in Egypt you could leave your towel in a bag at the end of the day and new ones would be there in the morning. Whilst our bath towels were changed every day, the only way to get your beach towel changed was to track down the staff member and hope he had some in the cart.

However, despite this, we would 100% return to this hotel. Outside of the rooms, the hotel is fantastic and the staff do such a wonderful job in keeping up its appearances. The Grounds are immaculate, the pools stunning and all the public areas are clean and welcoming.

The Staff at this hotel are what people are going to return for. Mohamed at Breakfast and lunch was great and we tended to shift around at night. The staff were so great with the children and would play with the kids for ages. And it never seemed forced, they actually wanted to do it. Yes, we did tip at every meal, and when we got drinks, but you never felt you would have been treated any different if you didnt do it. They really want to make sure that you enjoy your time and leave happy.

The food was top notch, and I'm not sure how people can not find something to eat. There is always a concern in all inclusive of the quality, but this was not a problem here. We also ate at 4 of the al a carte restauarants and they were all good. The kids always found something to eat, which is the most important thing for us as parents. Happy Kids, happy life.

We had the best time ever, and would not hesitate to return again.

Dear Guest, saeagle,
Thank you for your review and kind words about the hotel and its staff. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and that you noted the good work of our hotel staff. In addition, we always try to make your stay at the hotel as comfortable and homely as possible. As for renovations, we are gradually updating the rooms from building to building and also immediately eliminating any problems at the request of the guests. Most of the rooms have already been updated. Towels are changed in the morning in the room by the cleaner or by calling reception "0." In addition, we will be happy to welcome you back to our hotel and make your stay even better.
Best regards, administration.

want to start by saying that the holiday wasn't all bad.
The hotel grounds, rooms and beach were fantastic, the bar staff at the pools, beach and terrace bar were great, however a large portion of the main restaurant staff were terrible .
The two TUI reps whilst on our stay were rude and obnoxious and about as much use as Bob the Camel on the beach.

Firstly this holiday was advertised as a platinum all-inclusive holiday which cost the best part of £5000, this is not true at all. upon arrival, we were informed that there are extra charges for alcohol that is imported and Fresh orange juice at breakfast along with many other things, This is not all inclusive, when i spoke to the TUI reps about this, all they said was you should have read the terms and conditions, they then turned their back and told me it’s my fault. Had i know about this before booking the holiday i would have most likely chose somewhere else to go. This holiday was completely mis-sold and advertised. The beverages and local alcohol was disgusting and dangerous, my wife became very sick after drinking them.

Secondly the main restaurant staff were very bad, they were always looking for tips and asking you to change their money. Then there was a particular waiter that harassed my 12 year old daughter for a photo of himself with her on his phone, this is awful and unlawful behaviour which here in the UK would be looked at she is under age and is classed as sexual harassment, luckily my wife was able to remove the image from his phone.

And finally on the Friday our second but last day of the holiday my 12 year old daughter was sexually harassed by a young adult guest at the pool by the toilets. This person was following my daughter around the pool most of Friday morning, then in the afternoon he followed my daughter to the toilet, when she came out of the toilet the gentleman started asking her for photos and her phone number. When we complained about this the hotel security manager he looked into it.
The manager then bought the gentleman over to where we were staying by the pool and advised us that this was one big misunderstanding and that the gentleman could not talk English and that my daughter had got it wrong (since when has sexual harassment had a language and been misunderstood) the security then shake the man's hand and told him not to worry. At this point we had to complain again as this is not how sexual harassment should be dealt with. We were then told that our complaint would be sent to the hotel management and the TUI reps. The TUI reps did absolutely nothing they didn't even ask how we are or show any interest in the situation at all. The hotel manager advised us that the man had been warned and that he was to stay clear of me and my family, this was a lie as that evening when sat on the terrace bar the man walked in and sat down just 2 metres away from me and my daughter, it seem to me that there is no policy for this hotel and Egyptian TUI holiday reps for sexual harassment.

We feel so let down as we did not feel safe or supported and where was the duty of care for our 12 year old daughter

Room tip: If you do decide to go .. keep your children close . Especially daughters .

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Coral Sea. We were 2 families (9 of us in total) It was our first time in Egypt and we all had the best time here, we did not want to leave.
My brothers family did have a tummy bug the first week of the holiday but unsure where this was picked up as we had all eaten the same food.
The food was delicious at the buffet and resturants. Staff we incredible everywhere. Everyone in and around the resort couldn't do enough for you and were all extremely generous. Every time our little boy went to the shop to buy a lolly the man would give him another one for free. They were great with all of the kids and loved it when they were practising their Arabic words.
Rooms were clean and tidy. Had an issue with our shower one evening and someone came out to fix it straight away.
The resort was having some refurbishments done but this didn't affect our stay at all. All restaurants were still accessible.
The aqua park over the road was great, we wished we had ventured over there more during our first week as the kids loved it.
Weather was great every single day which was nice to get away from the rainy English weather.
Lots of sunbuds available at all pools and beach every day.

Only one thing I would say is that to the right hand side of the jetty where the sand is softer is "adults only" - one day there were no adults there & our kids wanted to play n the soft sand so we walked over there and we were quickly moved on..

Very minor problems. We were all very sad to leave and cannot wait to return!
