Stayed at tInterContinental Century City Hotel Chengdu for three days on a business trip. Liked the property. Rooms are truly luxurious and spacious with all the necessary facilities, room service has been excellent, great view outside. Though English is a problem beyond the reception, but service was excellent, all the staff is very forth coming and helpful. Like the buffet breakfast as there is wide range of choices especially for Vegetarian people. Reaching from the Airport was easy hardly 20 minutes drive.

Finding a luxury hotel in China is like finding a mosquito in the tropics. The result is that the frequent traveler gets to be very discerning after a while.

True to the Intercontinental brand, this is a first class place. The entry is -- as another reviewer put it, "cavernous", styled after a tea garden, with what appears to be an entire village under the main hall canopy. Even the check-in seems to be in a special boutique hotel entrance.

The buffet is good quality and the availability of ice cream for those of us on the road for a while, was a kind of luxury from home!

English in the hotel is very good in general. The facility is well maintained. The staff are attentive... perhaps a bit over attentive even.

The gym is well equipped with lots of work out equipment. Though some of this is not of the best quality, it is much better than in many places. (See photo.)

The in-room amenities for a 21st century traveler are good. Plenty of outlets. For the life of me I could not figure out the light switches except to turn everything off or on! Oh well. There was such a menu of pillows on the bed that I felt like I was back at the buffet again. Nice touch!

The internet access is predictably blocked to anything except TripAdvisor! (OK, I exaggerate a little.) There is connectivity, but not like being in any other country.

Enjoy.

Room Tip: You can ask for a room facing the "global center," a convention location that used to be the largest free-standing building in the world.

Beside the weak toilet that constantly get clogged and over flooding shower that doesn't drain so well this is by far one of the best hotel.

The service was unbelievable from the staff and it is very easy to get to this hotel. I assume this hotel have been here a lot longer than Global Center so all the taxi drivers only know of this hotel.

There is a lot to do around the hotel and is literally 10 minute walk to the global center if it interest you in anyway.

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel again.

I travel the world for biz and this is Definitely one of my fave all time places to stay. Cavernous entryway and very modern. Awesome breakfast buffet. Huge bathtubs (I'm 6 ft 3). Excellent service and in house restaurants. I don't do chengdu any more for biz but I wish I did. This place is "pimp"!

Stayed 3 nights late March early April and it was a great experience. My spacious and extremely comfortable room was on a high floor and noise free. The meals in classy surrounds were very good and it is also in the immediate vicinity of some fantastic Sichuan restaurants. Mr Frank, the Restaurant Operations Manager runs a good ship and is personally attentive to guests. The bar is comfortable and in the evenings they have a very good double act on piano, violin and vocals. Staff are keen to help and are always on hand. The gym could do with more air-con but not a big issue. This was a most enjoyable business trip and I hope to return in the future.
