Hotel location is not convenient at all, too far away from Xiamen dowtown (20 minutes by taxi).
Hotel hardware is relatively new, sea view rooms are spaciuos, with a nice balcony, large bathroom and working station.
Outdoor pool is really nice.
Gym is also nicely equipped for a good workout.
It could be a 4 stars rating on Tripadvisor but...service is really a disaster!
Out of reception, no one speak English.
Breakfast is poor and you have to pay an extra to have a cappuccino, which is unbelievable.
Restaurant has a menù but...90% of the dishes are not available and consider that they do not have a burgher, even if you ask room service.
For business it is not the right hotel.
I will not come back.

Xiamen International Conference Centre hotel aka, ICC.
This is a new 5 star hotel with the best value for the price! The rooms are modern and beautiful. A separate shower room and a bathtub. I like the night light underneath the sink for night time use. The room air conditioning worked perfectly and my only small comment is that the numerous light switches are hard to remember or find which one to use. Even the do not disturb is an electronic switch. Now for the reason why this is my favourite hotel so far. I liked the walk out balcony overlooking the city view. If you choose the ocean view the morning sun is too bright so you can't look outside anyway but the night time view of the city lights is much better and so is the price! You get free high speed WiFi without using a password. You get 4 bottles of water free. Included in my room price I had the breakfast buffet which is a Huge amount. When I checked out at noon Emma at the front desk said I can stay in my room until 2:00pm to wait for my personal and Free airport transfer van. Wow! This was my best value hotel and I highly recommend it. Also only one block away from shopping mall JFC with lots of food choices.

Room Tip: Avoided the Ocean View rooms because of the bright morning light.

The International Conference Hotel is a great place if your needing to be close to the conference center. If you are familiar with Chinese owned hotels you will know that they are not known for comfortable beds. Here the beds are wonderful. The service and food are also top notch and all for a great low price.

The only downside is all the construction going on everywhere in the city. It is difficult to walk around when the majority of the sidewalks are blocked for for replacement.

Enjoy your stay

Rooms were good, although pillows we found hard.
Main problem was no airconditioning switched on in and bedrooms. It was early march and temps outside were 16-22, but inside the rooms were 24C even with their patio windows open all night.Guess they were saving money, but not good enough for a five star where we paid 8000 + Rem for 8 nights.
Booking.com listing says '' a short 2 minute walk from the Conference centre ''
but reception staff said it was a brisk 10 minute walk . It was close but a long walk from the lobby on crowded streets.Better if you stay at the xiamen International seaside hotel which is part of the same chain but has a second floor covered escalator to the Conference centre.
For a conference centre hotel we were surprised to find few staff spoke any English
and often difficult to communicate our wishes. Even in the restaurants we had to point at the a la carte dishes and were served with 1 beer instead of 2 etc.
We also upgraded to a business floor room for an extra 200 Rem ;per night, but unlike
other Chinese and Hong Kong hotels, we only had a bottle of beer and light snacks in the exec lounge, no English spoken by staff, no tv and no atmosphere, and not open for buffet breakfast, so we returned to an ordinary room after 2 nights.
Food- the breakfast had many choices and was good, but we had not noticed in the small print in Booking.com, that the included breakfast price was for only 1 person in a double room !so something else to watch out for !

Finally, the grounds were being refurbished with new palm trees and landscaping, but not mentioned on Booking .com, although there was no apparent noise from that or the building work next door , so not a real ;problem.
To sum up-
staff were helpful as best they could, rooms are large and bathrooms good and clean.

This hotel was the official hotel of Ironman 70.3 Xiamen and it did not disappoint with its modern amenities. Besides the unbeatable price, the location was easily accessible from the airport via taxi and the breakfast buffet every morning was abundant with both Eastern and Wastern cuisine. For travelers wanting to go into Xiamen city central, the location may be a bit out-of-the-way. However, it is right by the beach, so this hotel may be ideal for those seeking a quieter atmosphere and there are always taxis waiting outside the lobby. Would definitely pick to stay here again next time!

Room Tip: Worth the extra money to get a view of the sea
