On arrival it was a very hot day and the lobby is unenclosed so we were boiling - a very minor point overall, though. Check-in was quick and we were each given a cool drink and chilled refresher towel while waiting. Then we were shown to our spacious, clean and comfortable room. The ambiance of the hotel as we were shown upstairs was colonial, and delightful! Later when we needed an iron it was quickly sent up, then there was a follow-up call to ensure we had received it. Air-con and Wi-Fi were both very effective and the room was quiet, even though it overlooked the pool.
Breakfast was truly fabulous with extensive choices, great quality and lovely presentation. I especially liked how all the different fruit was presented ready-to-eat: peeled, segmented, cut into bite-sized pieces, etc. We felt much indulged! We had two out of three evening meals at the hotel (same area as we had breakfast) and, although the food was nice, the service was exceptional. Service overall during our three-day stay was outstanding.
In the evening when going to dinner there are geckos everywhere outside, on the walls and ceilings – don’t stop to look at them as there are hordes of mosquitoes right there, too. Keep moving and you won’t get bitten! A minor cosmetic point about the room is that the waterproof board used to line the walls around the bathtub is badly stained where the metal taps/handles are attached. The impression is that the walls are dirty due to the dark stains. This is a false impression, though, as the room and bathroom were spotless. In general, we found this to be an excellent and comfortable hotel with attentive, friendly and competent staff.

Great character hotel. Impeccable service. Clean rooms. The breakfast was one of the best on our trip to Asia. After touring for most of the day, it was wonderful to relax and cool off in the pool area. In spite of a full hotel, there was always a place poolside. One thing I really appreciated was that an unoccupied chair with a towel on it, was after a half hour or so, was made available with a fresh unused towel..Nice when at so many other hotels, people would go and "save" a poolside chair making it unavailable for most of the day, even if unoccupied.(seems like a little thing but makes a difference)

The hotel is centrally located in Siem Reap but still far enough from the busy streets so it is quiet. It has a colonial architecture and has an old world feel to it. They have a very nice salt water pool which has tropical gardens all around it where you can just relax on the lounge chair or have a nice refreshing swim after a long hot sightseeing.

All the staff that we encountered gave us exceptional service. They are friendly, very courteous, gives attention to detail and has the willingness to help and serve you. It was always service with a smile.

They have great breakfast buffet with a huge selection of food to choose from. Lunch at the Le Pool deck is okay, nothing exceptional. The L’ Explorateur Bar has good cocktails and the appetizers are okay. The food at the Le Bistrot de Siem Reap was great. Service in all the restaurants are great,

Our room is nice, spacious, comfortable, clean, conservatively decorated and overlooks the pool. The bath room is not big but has enough space to move around and you have all the amenities you'll need.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend for 4 nights and did not want to leave! Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel was beautifully furnished throughout and a peaceful haven to return to after a day's sightseeing. It is both stylish and relaxing. Our bedroom was well furnished and quiet. Breakfasts were superb. The restaurant offered a wonderful choice of both Western and Asian food, so if you were too tired to venture out again, there was no necessity to do so. The lounge/bar was cool and peaceful. The staff were charming and friendly. Out of the 7 hotels I have stayed in over the past three weeks, this has been my favourite and deserves a much higher Tripadvisor ranking. Go there and see for yourself!
