We had the most amaizing stay at this hotel. There was a guide waiting on us at the airport and a driver with a nice car. We got two fresh coconuts and a gift (Cambodian scarf). Also cold towels and the nicest welcome ever.
When we got tobthe hotel the also had prepared a welcome drink with spicy peanuts and sticky rice. It was really good!
After we got our room we were just amaized. The rooms are big, really big. The bathroom is really nice. We had a bathtub and a shower. Just amaizing. You also get a kettle to make some coffe or tea and complimentary water.
Breakfast is all you want and more. You can gave cold cuts, pastery, egg station, bakon, all kinds of asian food, fruits, soups and if this is not enough you still have alacard things you can order free... I mean if someone complains about this breakfast is just creazy!!!
The pool is amaizing. Very clean and very well tske care of. Pool towels are provided. The water is just perfect after a long hot day to cool you down. We just loved it!
We got a complimentary dinner and it was wonderful. They also have an "apsara" dancing show st the hotel and it is very nice to see and have dinner at the same time. It was our first day at Cambodia. And sice we are from Europe we were just getting to know ther food and it was great.
We also got complimentary couples massage. The girls at the spa center are so nice. When you arrive at the spa you get cold tea and they make a pealing on your feet. The massage is perfect. After the massage you get hot ginger tea. Perfect!
We were on our honeymoon and they really took a nice care of us. All the flowers at the room. Rose paddles on the bed and in the bath. A bottle of wine an a card. Just magical!
Bu in general they are very attentive and all this little details are very nice. They vring you weather forecast for the next day in the evening. A little evening story to read and a banana chps snack.
We really liked it that everybody is smiling all the time and they are all so so so nice!!!
So don't read the reviews that have something bad to say. It is a really beutiful hotel and it deserves 5 stars!

The hotels proximity to everything else on Siem Reap was brilliant, other than for our temple tours, we were able to do a lot of exploring by foot.

The spa experiences were fantastic and affordable.

Although the rooms could have been cleaner. The floors felt like they were covered in a thin layer of dust. And mosquitos were definitely a problem at the hotel. The bathrooms needed a deep clean. But with the small amount of time we spend in the hotel. We were tired enough from being out all day and the bed seemed comfortable enough for the other stuff to not really bother us.

Dear Tiffany A,

It was a great honor and value occasion to accommodate you with our property, Golden Temple Retreat.

Thanks for taking your time to share your experience with us on TripAdvisor, I'm delighted to read that you found the location and spa experience are the best part of the hotel. However, I'm terribly sorry to hear that the quality of cleanliness was not reached your expectation.

This is deeply upsetting news, as I have always made it my first and foremost priority to serve every guest the highest quality service to my customers and to provide a fully satisfying sleeping experience to all. Please know that we take all complaints very seriously and that I shall be launching an in-depth investigation of the incident immediately to ensure that they are rectified and urgently improved. I can assure you that thing will be recovered shortly and even to higher standard.

Again; It was deeply upsetting to all of us that your enjoyment of Golden Temple Retreat was not as we had intended it to be. Irrelevant of the outcome of reports or advice it was always my intention.

Every week we do the fumigation two times to kill all the bugs and mosquitos; however, Cambodia is the tropical climate so lots of bugs and mosquitos are all most everywhere but there is no warning or announcement from the authority/ministry of health about the danger of mosquitos. Anyway thank you for your feedback about this we will make sure that our colleagues at the restaurant offer the repellent to our clients during their dining and continually spay in the room and the exterior of the hotel premise.

Please kindly accept this e-mail of this is to convey to you my personal sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced with Golden Temple Retreat.

Learning from constructive feedback is at the core of our constant pursuit to improve and to excel and I assure you that each feedback will receive the full attention of all the relevant managers and I can promise with you that your next stay will be excellent.

If you have any additional information that you believe may help us in our improvement please share it with us by replying to this email.

Trust you are well and we hope to have the chance to host you in the future and to change your view about our hotel.

Sincerely yours,

Luon Thea (Mr)

An amazing journey beyond our expectations ! Chen was there to meet and greet, welcoming us with coconut drinks and cold towels. At the hotel, more welcome drinks, local snacks and fruits. We had a wonderful surprise for our room ! Thank you so much ! All itinerary were reconfirmed and well coordinated with driver (Lai) and the guide (Menon). After each visit of the temple, Lai is always ready with chilled towels and drinks. Always so accommodating. Offsite lunch prepared by the hotel chef who went there for us was exceptional. The picnic breakfast after the sunrise at Angkor Wat and picnic snacks for Kulen falls were life savers and yummy ! Annie at the hotel made sure we are our orders of glutinous snacks to bring back and had another room arranged for us when the room was tidied. The best crew at hotel, I must say, and all of them are locals with impeccable English ! Dinner with the traditional dance show was amazing and the team kept our bottles well and we could enjoy it the next day. Indeed, an exceptional place with a marvelous team! The place is only 10 months old - do keep it up with many more brilliant years to come !

Room Tip: Pool front rooms are amazing !

My husband and I stayed at this exquisite hotel for 7 glorious nights. It seems as if our stay was a dream. From the moment we were greeted and picked up at the airport, to the fond farewell at the end of our stay, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The staff at Golden Temple Retreat is exceptional. In all of my travels, never have I experienced this type of personalized service.
After a long day of touring we were greeted with a genuine smile and a refreshingly cold jasmine scented towel.
The staff called us by name and were always attentive to any of our needs.
Our room was unbelievable. We had beautiful fresh flower petals on our bed when we arrived- our sink had beautiful flowers floating in it, and we had the most amazing stone bathtub and rain shower all in a very spacious area.
Our bed and pillows were perfect. There was a note on the nightstand offering a different type of mattress and pillow if the current one was too soft or too hard.
We had a porch swing and a nice double cushion on our fairly private patio where we could relax and enjoy a drink.
The location is ideal. It’s on a nice quiet street, steps away from a convenience store, excellent restaurants and it is a short walk / Tuk Tuk ride to Pub St.
The breakfast buffet was full of beautiful fresh fruits and juices, eggs to order, noodle soup made to your liking, pastries, authentic local foods and you could even order specialties off the menu such as Eggs Benedict or a delectable French toast.
To sum it all up, our stay in Cambodia was golden at The Golden Temple Retreat.
We will be back for this organic experience!

While in Siem Reap, Cambodia we stayed at The Golden Temple Retreat.

We were warmly greeted by a smiling member of the hotel staff at the airport. He collected our luggage, summoned the driver and surprised us with two fresh coconut waters to drink! The driver pulled up, we hopped in and settled into a 25 minute ride to the hotel.

We had an early evening flight into Siem Reap, so the sun had already set and it was dark when we arrived. As we got closer to the hotel, we began to notice how alive the city is at night! We drove by Pub street and the night market, there were lots of people out and it was very bright, light up almost like a fair! :)

We arrived at the hotel and greeted by three staff members, welcoming us with a refreshing beverage and some light snacks while they checked us in.

We were escorted to our pool facing room on the first floor of the property, where our bags had already been dropped off.

The room was great! The wall the faced the pool was all windows and had curtains you could open and close depending the level if privacy you wanted. There were lots of fresh towels, robes, slippers & toiletry products to make you feel at home.

The room’s bathroom was great, it had a huge vanity mirror, waterfall shower, gorgeous bathtub and private toilet (which is exactly what you want when traveling to exotic places ;)). There was also good wifi, a curved Samsung tv & mini fridge with multiple drinks for purchase.

Each morning we ate breakfast at the restaurant, as it was included in the stay. It was a very nice spread, offering cereal, baked goods, fresh fruit & juices, Cambodian dishes and an omelet station; in additional to your standard coffee & tea, espresso was also included which was a plus for us!

The pool was beautiful, however a little cold as coming from the US we are use to heated pools. It had multiple chairs built into the water and some above ground loungers, it also had a swim up bar at the end.

During our stay the hotel arranged a sightseeing tour for us. Where we went to see four of the city’s major landmarks; including Ta Prohm, Preah Khan, Banteay Srei and lastly Angkor Wat. Honestly, we thought Angkor Wat might be a little bit talked up, nope, it was absolutely stunning!

We had a lot of fun walking around the small city, trying all the cold pressed juices , exploring the markets and riding the tuk-tuks; our favorite was the Batmobile! We also really liked the Spoons and Fifty 5 restaurants.

The check out process was seamless. This is really important as it leaves a lasting impression.

A big thank you to The Golden Temple! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our favorite part of Cambodia were the people! They are the kindest and most polite people we have ever met. ❤️
