Yes - this hotel is almost new, in a fantastic location with all the amenities you would expect in a quality property. However, the J7 Hotel has one additional factor that it is hard to find in most hotels anywhere in the world. A great truly world class and switched on exceptional concierge team led by Bun. Whether it is advice on transport, restaurants or temple excursions, Bun is the man to organise it all.
Tip - Use the Hotel branded tuk tuks . Number 9 was brilliant for 2 straight days.

Room Tip: A room over the pool

Lovely grounds, comfortable beds and warm service. We were very well taken care of. Location is central and just about 5 minutes by tuk tuk to town centre and pub street. It's about half an hour by car to Angkor Wat.

Based on other reviewers for this hotel we decided to choose it for our trip to Siam Reap after comparing to other well established hotels. My selection of hotel accommodation is also based on whether the hotel is fairly new and recently renovated/refurbished. I find the decor in the older hotels to be dark, furnishing heavy and cluttered. As we read that J7 hotel was only opened last year and the reviews and photos of the rooms attracted my decision to select it. It did not let me down. The Classic room we picked could easily sleep 4 adults ie with an extra rollaway bed and utilizing the day bed in the room as the fourth bed. My father, husband and I shared the room and not once we felt we were walking into each other as the room was spacious. The bath tub, shower area and wash basin cum wardrobe divided into 3 three areas was just as spacious. Bed mattresses was comfortable. The only suggestion I have is a nice natural air freshner eg lemongrass would be great as rooms closed and still fairly new still smell a bit. Also as it is dry season in Siam Reap mosquitoes were an annoyance especially at night so nightly housekeeping could give the room a spray of iunsect repellent.
The location of the hotel is very good however everywhere is not very far in Siam Reap as it is a fairly small city. Traffic is not bad at all compared to cities like Hanoi, Bangkok. The Tuk-Tuk can get you to the nearest eating streets in 15-20mins
The buffet breakfast spread has a good variety of western and cambodian dishes.
Staff all ever ready to help and are pleasant.
Rates are very reasonable with the included breakfast.
I would recommend and stay here again.

Room Tip: I requested a shower chair as I have mobility issues and was supplied with a garden chair to use which was sufficient.

J7 is a very comfortable 5-star boutique hotel. Staff are very friendly and falling over themselves to deliver the best service they can.

We had a room overlooking the pool and since it was facing the inner courtyard it was very quiet. The room and bathroom were both large and spotlessly clean.
There is construction going on opposite the hotel so be aware of this.

Breakfast was very good, filter coffee is included but espresso etc is extra.
We had dinner three times in the J restaurant and the food was excellent.
The Italian chef made a point of chatting to the diners and was receptive to feedback.

Be aware: mosquitoes are a real issue in Siem Reap and you need to guard against them.

As others have commented, the pool is not huge but it is adequate and despite the hotel being fairly busy (according to what staff told us) the pool was never crowded.
It is one of only 2 salt water hotel pools in Siem Reap; much more pleasant to use than a chlorinated pool.
