The Pre Rup is said to be the state temple of Kind Rajendravarman; a mountain temple built in 961 located South of the large East baray and the East Mebon. The architectural style is very similar to that of the earlier East Mebon, the major difference os the stepped myramid of the Pre Rup that is missing in the East Mebon temple. Its laterite and brick structure represents the five mountain peaks of the sacred mountain Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Hindu mythology.

The most striking feature of the Pre Rup temple are the three large towers on either side of the Eastern entrance, the main entrance and temple.

The temple has a square layout and was built from brick and sandstone. You can walk along the corridors with plenty of frames as in many temples. These temples are quieter and with less tourists, the time of you visit will depend on how much you want to explore and climb. This temple is part of the big circuit in the Angkor trail.

The king made this temple for himself and it is really pretty nice, Not spectacular, but nice to visit, You will likely have it to yourself if you check it out.

Small, nice temple. Good plcae to see the sunset over the trees with few people. Easier climb from behind where there are wooden stairs.

This is the first stop and need to do a steep climb to the top, with narrow steps, and then a steep down ladder with moving rails for going down, take your time. The view is beautiful.
