We arrived at Barsalata at 7:30pm and after being greeted by extremely friendly staff, we managed to be seated straight away.

The menu itself looked amazing and there was so much to choose from (another bonus is you can see the food being cooked over the counter in front of you and all of the ingredients are fresh and working areas extremely clean!)

We opted for the Kale Chips to start (which were very tasty – highly recommend) followed by a half portion of "Sweet Thai Lime" salad, a half portion of "The Twenty" salad and two "Into the Sunset" watermelon juices. All of these were tremendously good although my favourite was The Twenty – with 20 mouth-watering ingredients there was a lot of flavour and everything I look for in a salad.

The salads alone were more than enough (for two people) but we decided that we MUST try the "Grilled Cheese Sandwich" as it sounded exceptionally good on the menu and it did not disappoint – with date & mustard sauce on the side it complimented the sandwich perfectly!

For dessert we went for the "Banana and Almond Pancakes" which were the perfect ending to a delightful meal. We will definitely be returning to Barsalata again very soon!

Barsalata is a fresh alternative to the typical heavy dinner. For those wanting to have a nice and healthy dinner, this is the place to go. You can select from their signature salads, or build your own. They also have sandwiches and other options which as as good as their salads.

My favorite place for a quick lunch whenever I'm in the area (downtown Dubai). Their portions are very generous and one salad feeds at least two. All ingredients and sauces are prepared fresh in house. Start with Orange Glory (mix of carrots, orange and ginger), build your own salad (try adding their grilled asparagus) and at the end feast on freshly baked cookies (mmmm...)

We had not been here for some time so we stopped in for late breakfast / early lunch. The menu is still a simple collection of salads, sandwiches and short focused breakfast items.

Decor: like a greenhouses flooded with light with uninterrupted views of the Boulevard great for people watching, car watching and Burj views. It is like a small bistro with light colours and greenery. You get a good feeling of space in what is otherwise a small area.

Food: we ordered the Warm Asparagus, Goats Cheese & Poached Egg salad with beetroot hollandaise. This also comes with sourdough bread. This is a substantial portion with lots of green leaves. It is a brunch dish between more savoury lunch but with eggs, toast and hollandaise. The hollandaise is served more like a salad dressing than lathered over eggs as you would expect from a Benedict.

The Banana Almond Pancakes are layered in stacks with slices of banana between. Almond butter is also spread between layers. I think the pancakes are made of almond flour or almond butter as there is no discernible banana taste in the pancake. These come with blueberries and blackberries dotted around the dish with tasted almond flakes. Good dish but needs something to bring it together a bit more, maybe a fruit coulis? The portion is also a touch small and could do with something else to complete the dish or make the pancakes slightly larger or thicker.

SERVICE: Attentive, casual and friendly. Not pretentious, chatty and helpful.

PRICE: 130Dhs all together which is not bad at all given you are sat on the Boulevard which is not known for reasonable prices.

I will definitely return here again.
