We went on this trek in the morning! Good time to go as the desert wasn’t too hot but was sunny and bright so you could see everything! We had Matti as a tour guide! He was brilliant! He kept in contact with us on the day leading up to the trek and the morning of it to inform us of arrangements! He provided us with very interesting facts and history about old Dubai and new and he was great entertainment on the journey to the camp!
When we arrived we were given the option to take out quads on the sand dunes! This was all very safe and at your own leisure. After we went trekking across the dunes in our 4x4 and sand boarding. Matti made sure we were all okay with the dunes we were taking on and was a brilliant driver. He made sure everyone was safe and enjoying themselves! He also took us to a great spot for photos!
After we went camel back riding and got to take photos with the camel! Again all was well organised and very enjoyable!
Brilliant trek, brilliant mornings fun and Excellent tour guide Matti!

We have just returned from a great morning in the desert with Saj. Saj couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Driving the Jeep in the sand was great fun. The children loved the Sandboarding and Saj was kind enough to drive us back up the hill!! If you like off-road driving then I’d definitely recommend this trip with OceanAir Travels.

We have just completed the 1/2 day Dubai city tour with OceanAir.

In summary, it was well worth the price to get an overview of the City and our guide was friendly & knowledgeable.

We were scheduled for Coll cation from our hotel at 0840hrs - but we got a phone call from reception to say our guide had arrived at 0835hrs - great start to the day as often you have to wait ages for the tours to collect you.

We were taken to a 15 or so seat minibus and went off to meet another group of 6 people - this made a total of 9 of us on the bus which was comfortable, clean and air conditioned.

Our first stop was at the Atlantis Palm - 10 mins for a quick walk along the sea front and photos outside the hotel. This is a fantastic location with stunning views in all directions - one side the Persian Gulf - the other, the amazing hotel!

From here we were off to the Jumeirah beach hotel - the one shaped like a sail - we stopped here on the beach for photos - again, a stunning location.

From here it was off to the Jumeirah mosque - not enough time to go inside, but a quick photo stop and access to a toilet if needed. This is a fantastic building.

We then stopped at a nearby shop with the chance to buy souvenirs- this was like somebody’s house with lots of lovely high end carpets, gold and other pieces - it was a strange stop and there were lots of members of staff who weren’t quite hassling you to buy things, but we’re very persistent- I would recommend giving this a miss as it was a bit of a waste of time.

Next was a trip to the old side of Dubai and a boat trip on an abra over to the spice market. This was a great little trip across the Dubai Creek ending up outside the spice market. This is really, really busy area with hundreds of small shops selling spices and other souvenirs. The staff are very pushy, showing all their goods and encouraging you into their shops. Whilst pushy, they do accept ‘no’ for an answer - eventually!

You also get to go around the gold souk as well. It’s all very nice but there are lots of men showing you fake watches and bags - great if you want that sort of thing, but can be annoying if you’re of a fragile disposition! (And we’re not )

From here it’s back onto the bus and off to Burj Khalifa tour and mall. This is the biggest mall in the world and we thought that we would be fine having tackled beasts like the Florida Mall - this was something else though- quite amazing in size! The fountains out the front are worth a watch too.

We had the chance to be taken back to our hotel or stay here as the trip had ended. We stayed. The whole trip lasted from 0835 to about 1230hrs.

It was well worth it to get a flavour of the whole City and I would recommend it.

Our guide was very helpful - she spoke great English and was very pleasant.

Thank Gary T

We booked and paid for 2 trips with this company a couple of weeks before we travelled.. One was the Desert Safari and the other was the half day Dubai city tour. Both were a great success and we got everything that was promised.
Desert Safari.
The company contacted us via Whatsapp within a couple of hours of landing in Dubai informing us of our pick up schedule.. Pickup was punctual and our Driver and guide was Saali. We shared a 4x4 with another group of 4 people (7 in total) To be honest it was a bit uncomfortable at the rear of the vehicle, it felt a little like being in the boot. However as we rotated seats regularly it was bearable .We drove for approx 1 hour outside of Dubai city. First stop was a bathroom break and to see/do the quads in the desert, this was extra to the price paid. None of our group were interested which was just as well as there were long Qs and i dont think we would have had the time. Then it was on to the Dune bashing.
OMG. It was amazing and great fun. However.I would advise anyone Not to eat and drink anything beforehand though as it will definitely come back up.
We stopped out in the dessert for photo opportunities and sand boarding. This too was great fun. They had two different types of boards. The stand up one for the young and brave (foolish) and a sit down version for the more cautious of us. Definitely worth doing whichever you choose. The drivers were very good taking care of everyone. They took brilliant photos and helped people with the sandboarding and kept us supplied with cold water.
After we had all got our breath back and our tummys were back in their correct position the driver re inflated the tyres and we headed for the bedouin village. Here there were camels for camel rides and a falcon for photos.
Inside the village we were shown to our tables and given information on where to get our drinks, on how and when to queue for our meal etc. There were a number of other activities also eg, we were allowed to dress up in traditional Arab garments for photos, ladies were invited to get henna tattoos on their hands and there were shisha pipes at our disposal.
Starter was served first with soft drink of your choice. Alcohol was available but at an extra charge. Then there was a show with belly dancing and fire throwing.
The buffet meal that followed was delicious. Men and Women queued up seperately for the main course. There was a great selection of salads, noodles, rice, fish, lamb and chicken and much much more. This was then followed by dessert which was fresh fruit and other sweets., Tea and Coffee.. Plenty of everything and very well organised.
We then had a little more free time before we returned to our jeeps and were driven back to our hotel.
This was a really good trip and excellent value for money. Everything was very well organised, everyone were very polite and helpful and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. A definite MUST DO in Dubai.
My only bit of advice is IF you PREPAY for the trip like i did, make sure you have a receipt or at least a copy of the payment coming out of your bank account.. Halfways through the meal i was asked for payment. I explained i thought i had paid already and was told i had not. I must admit it was a bit upsetting and I could not check this out as i had no WIFI in the middle of the desert. However on returning to my hotel and tapping into wifi i was able to prove that the payment had actually been taken out of my bank account weeks previously when i booked..When booking you have the option to prepay or pay on the day BUT whichever you choose they dont seem to give a receipt. Just be careful. Enjoy, Wish i could do it all over again
