Very impressed with the decor of this buffet restaurant inside the Al Qasr hotel (which is stunning)! So I had high expectations! Our party of 9 included 6 vegetarians, and the good friend of ours who booked assured us she mentioned this at time of booking. However, for both starters and main, very limited choices for vegetarians. I asked one of the chefs on the live stations, what was available for vegetarians and he said the Asian stir fried vegetables - that's it!!! Really? Come on, in this day and age this is not acceptable! There was some plain tomato based sauce pasta and margarita pizza, for kids I suppose! So our host quite rightly complained about this, and after an hour and a half they brought us a veggie curry and some lentil Dahl, with naan bread (all of which should have been available in the first place!!). However, apart from one person we had all eaten. I'd had the Asian stir fried vegetables with some rice, and my daughter had that too with some more tabouleh from the starters section which she loves. We did have a mouthful of the curry/dahl, and it was delicious - SUCH a shame that it came too late for us to enjoy!! Dessert choice was good, and if you eat meat (chicken/lamb) or fish choices not too bad (saw only salmon and large prawns). Overall, I would probably not return, even though setting is beautiful and we did have a lovely evening with our friends, although if you eat meat and/or fish, you'll probably really enjoy it! Also we waited well over an hour for someone to take our drinks order - we ordered water quickly but then no one came back to take any further drinks order.
