We stayed at Anantara the palm for 1 week. We were travelling with a 16 month old baby. We selected the lagoon access room as we felt being next to the room would be ideal for when baby napping etc.
Every time we come to Dubai we stay at The one and only but we opted for this hotel as we felt it might be more child friendly.
I have to say this hotel exceeded our expectations. And we didn’t get off to a great start. We arrived from the night flight at around 9am. Our room was not ready. Whilst I totally appreciate the uk flight times are not compatible with hotel check in, I do think they could do a little more to make us feel comfortable, ie offer a complimentary breakfast or coffee at the very least. We had been travelling for about 11 hours by this point with a young child. We went and had breakfast anyway but at a cost of around £60 which I think is rather steep.
Anyway, after this everything just got better. The room was beautiful, the pool facility excellent and there was something for everyone.
As our son is so fair, we were cautious to have him in the sun too much. We took him round to the kids club to see if there was anything he could play with and the staff were absolutely amazing. As our son is so fair, we were cautious to have him in the sun too much. We took him round to the kids club to see if there was anything he could play with and the staff were absolutely amazing. They offered to babysit him (because of his age he was technically too young to be left). They also babysat him 2 evenings allowing us to go for dinner. Our son adored the girls and they made us feel confident leaving him. I don’t think there are many reviews that really discuss the kids club or babysitting but it literally made our and our son’s holiday. The two girls we’d specifically like to mention are shantai and clarita. They spent so much time with Josh and he clearly loved them.
We gave this hotel 5 stars a seven though we weren’t that impressed with check in, everything else was wonderful.
This hotel has a laid back holiday feel, something lacking slightly at the one and only, however it is every bit as beautiful and we will definitely be returning.More
