Abra is very helpful for people daily travelling from old souq and Bur Dubai. Journey through the canal is also very nice. We can see old Dubai on the side. It's coast only 1AED. (They may ask the tourists for a single boat ride for 200AED).

Taking a boat ride across the river is such a unique Dubai experience, this is something you have to do when in Dubai, it only costs 1AED! The views from the boat are so beautiful, I highly recommend anybody to try this. ..

After you’ve seen all the shiny new buildings of modern Dubai, this is an interesting break....but still not that different from most markets...except the gold goods section.

Must try the abra for 1 aed. As a resident i was surprised to see that a few feet along the guy was trying to charge tourists 120 aed for a round trip. So lovely tourists be careful of rip offs like this. try the abra in winter or after 4pm as it is very hot and the souk is outdoors. You must haggle wherever you go, do not accept the prices at face value, ever. Always offer 70% off the price in regards to the souk. They prey on gullibility. This is the old part of Dubai not glamourous but like anywhere the older the more interesting.

Local (old school) way to travel. Very interesting. Deira old souk has a lot of spice markets near the station.
