“A little run down but beautiful nevertheless”
Review of Pima Palace

Pima Palace
Reviewed 8 July 2018

It may be a little run down these days, but in its heyday this must have been an imposing site, dominating one side of the Main Square with its green shutters to let in the air. While the palace portal is built in Renaissance style, its windows and upper balcony are built in Baroque style. Above the main portal sits the coat of arms for the Pima family to whom it belonged. Originally built in 1667, it was reconstructed after the 1979 earthquake.

This building/palace dominates the square, with its entrance/portal and terrace. It catches your eye. We love buildings that have had a little bit of thought that has been put in the design/architecture.

Pima Palace is in the middle of Old Town Kotor. It has a unique look with the green shutters. Be sure and see it as you are walking around old town.

It was the palace of the Pima family from the 17th century. It is built in an interesting style and different from any other building I saw in the town.

I was staying in the hotel opposite this building. It has a lot of history and all groups stop there. There is a nice restaurant in the courtyard out the front. You cannot enter.
