For 10 kunas per scoop, this ice cream place really hits the spot after walking around the Old City. What’s more, they are such a friendly bunch of people focused on customer service (our young girl didn’t like one of the flavours she choose and they promptly gave us another scoop free of charge!). We found this place cheaper than anywhere else with no real compromise on ice cream quality. For the waffle cone connoisseurs out there, don’t get your expectations too high though!

We enjoyed this delicious treat even in the rain! Service was quick and the portions were plentiful. I would definitely recommend!

* Firstly, apologies for lateness in posting review! *

Just inside Pile Gate (the main entrance to the Old Town) on Stradun (also known as Placa) (the main street) is Sladoledarna, the BEST ice-cream/gelato shop in the entire of Dubrovnik. Offering an extensive range of flavours (we tried many, and they were all delicious), super fresh crispy cones, and by far the most generous sized scoop(s) you'll find anywhere in Dubrovnik, makes them exceptional value for money. The staff are all very friendly and jolly (most speak excellent English), and patient as you agonise over which flavour(s) to select. They even allow tasting if you can't decide! As an added bonus, the location of the shop couldn't possibly be in a more prime location - right near the spectacular Large Onofrio's Fountain. Purchase an ice-cream or gelato and sit on the fountain's steps and watch the world go buy. Beware of the Mediterranean heat - ie you don't want to have your scrum-diddly-umptious creamy goodness end up on the pavement - or you'll be torn with wanting to lick it up versus the embarrassment of actually doing so, lol. During our 3 day stay, I consumed more than I care to admit - but I absolutely loved every morsel. Yes I had two per sitting - one after the other!

Lovely ice cream. Favourite is the green apple and also the pistachio. Nice service too. Tried three ice cream places here and this was the best one. Other nice flavours were mango, orange, lemon, banana, and the vanilla one with chocolate chips!

Sladoledarna Ice Cream Shop is located as you enter Dubrovnik City at the top end of Placa (Stradun). There is a good choice selection of ice creams from coffee flavour to tiramisu for 10 kunas. However it melts quickly in the heat so it needs to be eaten immediately.
