We had so much fun attending a Dining in the Dark night. It was just something over the top in our experience. The entrance is like an old speak easy and you are blindfolded and served a four course dinner. It was salad, bruschetta, pasta with pork and a chocolate eclair dessert which was all very tasty, but really the fun was guessing; and the kind of intimacy I felt with my husband just being in the dark with him in this adventure. The owner, Marcus, is top rate. The whole venue is a tribute to Lewiston/Auburn's vitality.

Came in on a Sunday and hubby had breakfast sampler and I had the burger. Water and Pepsi took a bit to get to the table, food didn't take too long to come out. Breakfast sampler looked good but had no seasoning. Canadian bacon looked like it had been deep fried and was hard. My burger was good and I liked the fries. Service really sucked. Server was nice but slow. We saw a party of 4 come in 15 minutes before advertised 2pm closing and server checked with the kitchen and they said no. If you advertise that you are open till 2 then you serve till 2. Place needs a good cleaning, lots of cobwebs. Also was surprised to see kitchen worker come into dining room in a tank top. Didn't think that was allowed in a kitchen. And loud hipster music was a huge turn off.

Such a nice brunch experience! We had excellent service - the waitress took extra time to confirm ingredients and cooking instructions to accommodate a food allergy and was very pleasant about it. She was efficient and friendly - joking along with us throughout. The food was phenomenal - all three of us had different meals: french toast - hash skillet - eggs - bagel - and we were all very pleased. We sat outside in the sidewalk dining area and thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine along with the live entertainment - a female singer and male guitar player - we would return just to hear them! (Unfortunately, I don't remember their name.) Overall, it was the highlight of the weekend.

Our waiter was not pleasant, he behaved like we were an inconvenience to him rather than a patron. We sat with our appetizers for 10 minutes before he brought us silverware (we had to ask). Our water was never refilled. The French Onion Soup was terrible. It had a vinegar taste. The Chicken & Waffles was inedible. The bacon jam was so heavy sickly sweet and the waffle was hard and cold. The chicken itself tasted like chicken tenders out of the freezer. The salad dressing was tart and none of us could eat it. We typically love salad, especially with homemade dressing. The only thing we enjoyed was a potato appetizer that we shared. We won't be back.
