We spent one night here before going on a partial transit tour of the canal. The room was right out of the 1960s and rather dark and dreary—then we realized the other side of the hotel had a view of the canal instead of the roof above the entrance. The woman at the front desk said she was sorry, but a view room cost an extra $27. Best $27 dollars we ever spent. Same room, totally different experience.

There is a TGIFridays in the hotel. I avoid American chain restaurants when traveling, as I prefer trying the local food, but the choice was chicken tenders or a burger in the lobby, or eating at Fridays. Turns out, the food at Fridays was delicious, and the outdoor table offered a sunset view over the canal.

Room tip: Get a room with the view

Thank you for posting a review. We are glad that you appreciate the food. On the other hand, we are saddened to hear that your stay was less than satisfying due to the room and its view and the staff service at that time. Providing our guests with a comfortable and relaxing experience is of extreme importance to us and we are sorry if we may have missed the mark. Know that your voice has been heard and this will be forwarded to the hotel management for further improvements. We hope for another opportunity to make a more favorable impression in the future.

Situated almost underneath the Bridge of the Americas and right alongside where the Pacific meets the Panama Canal, we had jaw-dropping views from the balcony of tankers and container ships passing by. The MarineTraffic app told us all about them. Our room had a separate seating area with fridge and microwave but was badly in need of paint and minor repairs. The pool was large - it needed to be on Christmas Day when 40 children were playing in it though much quieter when families had gone home. The food was just about acceptable. Better to take a cheap taxi to the seafood restaurants on the causeway islands.

Very nice city hotel large pleasant room. Beautiful swimming pool
Disappointing that they didn’t make use of the views over the canal - no roof terrace to view it. Breakfast room was dismal in terms of view yet good food lots of choice
Giving the location I guess only the front facing very expensive rooms or suites get the view
The surrounding area very quiet. No where open to eat within walking distance so we had to eat both nights at the attached pub sports bar TGI Fridays Food was ok but very much American fast food And it was to the side of the hotel. With the possible view over the canal and the Pan American Highway famous bridge. I was disappointed that I only saw it from the swimming pool ! It was nice to swim under the little bridge in the pool and catch a glimpse of the big one ! Disappointingly there seemed to be only a tatty footpath going along the canal side. Think a marketing possibility is being missed there. I expected to eat looking over the water. The canal and the bridge. My photo of the boats from the garden zoomed in through trees
Room was spotlessly clean. Nice fridge bottled water etc balcony looked over the hotel entrance but onto hills beyond. Rooms at the front looked magnificent. But our tour company didn’t book them !! Wonder why ! Price I guess

Room tip: Ask how much to upgrade to rooms with a view of the canal

This hotel is old, outdated, and worst of all the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at! I have stayed at all starts of hotels across the globe and have never seen a hotel that is so dirty. It is SHOCKING that hotels.com lists it as a 4-star! Radisson should be ashamed of this hotel! I am so far from a clean freak, but the first room I was given scared me because it was so dirty. Also, I paid for an ocean view and got a room that was facing the ocean but was blocked by trees. When I complained about the condition of the room on the first day I was ignored. The manager was not there. I called hotels.com to see if I could cancel the next 5 days of my reservation and move to a new hotel. They called the hotel and the hotel said no. Hotels.com said they have no power even though they labeled it 4 stars and I paid through them. I also was kept up all night by what sounded like a party in the hallway. The next day I talked to the manager. He moved me to a room with a better view that was slightly cleaner. I gave up saying anything because they wouldn't move me and hotels.com wouldn't help. Hotels.com said they would escalate the situation to a supervisor and I hear back in a week. I heard nothing! The whole hotel smelled very musty and the decor has not been updated since the 1980s. If it was clean it should have been labeled a 2.5 or 3 star, but with how dirty it was a 1 star! The area also does not feel safe to walk around. There is a very nice area of the city a short walk away, but just outside the hotel looks seedy and you can see people partying in the grass outside the hotel at all hours of the night. DO NOT STAY HERE! The pool is nice except for the ring of mold around the top of it. Also, the hot tub is cold! There is one guy at the front desk who is so rude. He will make you stand there at the desk for 5 mins before even acknowledging your existence and then he will act like you are bothering him. The manager seemed nice and concerned, but clearly doesn't know how to run a hotel!

Room tip: Don't stay here!
