What a lovely hotel, the decor is absolutely gorgeous. There was a heatwave for 2 of the days I visited, and the air conditioning worked a treat. Lots of storage, a very solid bed, very clean and neat throughout. And the location is absolutely brilliant for a city break. Come out the front, turn left, turn right, turn left and you'll see the stations for Kupalovskaya and a bit further down is Oktyabrskaya. They are the stations for the two different metro lines that cross over at this junction so you choose whichever station is on the line you need. This is also where the Centralny supermarket/cafe/bakery is.

Now I must mention that the room I had seemed to be over the restaurant or maybe next to a bar because there was thumping music on during the evening. It was lowered from 11pm but didn't actually stop until 12.30am. It didn't bother me because I was wide awake due to the time difference but I can imagine it would be awful for someone with jetlag who needs an early night. So I would ensure you ask for a quiet room in that case. Also, I found the shower a bit difficult to get the hang of. If there is too much water flowing then it just stops. But I worked it out after asking for help. And lastly, there is not a single foreign channel on TV apart from VH1 so perhaps download some films to watch!

Room tip: Check you have a quiet room if you have trouble sleeping.

Stayed here for 3 nights, booked via their website. The price was very good for the location - close to supermarket, GUM department store and both metro lines. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The room was very nice and spacious, we had a room on the fourth floor. Very quiet. The bed was comfortable. The only thing was the breakfast was quite overpriced for what it was (18 roubles per person per day). There were salad materials, cut up fruit (with all the peel still on, even the kiwifruit), tubs of yoghurt, two kinds of cereal (both sugary), oatmeal, fried eggs and then a bizarre selection of meals and pancakes (some sweet, some not) and other things that looked like cake. Nothing was labelled and I'm not in the mood to play food Russian roulette first thing in the morning. If I stayed again, I would absolutely skip the breakfast - you could definitely find cheaper and better elsewhere.

Room tip: The higher the floor, the quieter the room

When you need an hotel in center of the city, that combine a good confort, clean rooms, good price and nice personal, Garni is the place to go. Well placed in the very center of the city, with some parking nearby, it is comfortable also for your guests. I will come back again.

The breakfast for extra blr 8,0 is ok!
The staff helpful and nice!
