Owner description: The Terevau is a passenger and vehicle high speed catamaran that runs between Tahiti and Moorea. It takes you from one side to the other one within 30 mn dock to dock, 5 to 6 times a day, since 2012. It offers 360 comfortable seats and can board 10 vehicles, has air conditionned halls and a fully furnished snack bar.

I heard this ferry was a bit cheaper, it cost us $23 each round trip to Moorea. This is the big red boat that says Vodafone on the side. There is plenty of parking south of the big terminal building. Bring your parking ticket and pay under the stairs on the south side of the building before you return to your car. The ticket office is on the ground level, in what looks like a parking garage. Then go upstairs to board at the north end of the building. There is a little seating area and a counter to buy snacks. The boarding gate is right next to the seating area. When we were there they were very prompt. On the way back, our boat left later and went screaming past the other ferry. This one holds fewer cars and I was told you need to make a reservation only for taking vehicles.

Fast and efficient transport between Papeete Pier and Moorea Pier. Ferry always on time and clean. Only thing it could improve on is signage: where to wait, baggage drop off and pick up, etc .... you're flying a little blind when you arrive at the piers.

Very easy to buy tickets online or in person, very easy to load/unload your luggage, AC, snack bar, quick ride to & from Mo'orea. If you arent staying on Mo'orea, it's the perfect way to catch the first ferry there and last ferry back just to site see for the day! Highly recommend.

The ferry trip from Moorea to Tahiti is 30 minutes (versus 45 on the other). It is an easy trip. This ferry is quicker and smaller (relative); the other is more stable and larger. This one may have had a better schedule, but I would check. Both boats are good. I would take this one in calm seas; in very rough seas, I might take the other. Be aware that they take the luggage and then give it (rather you collect it at the base of the boat) on the other side. It is safe, but can be a little disconcerting if one doesn't know. Great, quick way to change islands. Highly recommend. The boats go even if the planes don't.

30 minutes between Tahiti & Mo'orea! Terevau was spacious, clean and hassle-free. We didn't have to worry about the weight of our luggage the way we would with a plane. Ferry ports on either end have snacks for purchase.
