This place had everything my friend and I wanted to do on our holiday in Fiji, all in one place! The people were amazing and friendly, the entertainment and food was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed the included activities, only wished we'd spent another day there to do it all again!! Patrick and Bruce especially were delightful and really made us laugh and feel welcome. This is worth every cent spent.

South Sea was my first stop on my island hopping adventure and stayed here for 2 nights.

You can walk around the whole of it in 5 minutes but the size of the place is what makes it appealing - you do feel at times like you are on a desert island.

It does get a lot of day trippers during the course of the day due to its close vicinity to the mainland but once they are all gone it is only the backpackers who are staying the night who are left and it makes into a good evening with food and a few games that are put on.

Dorm was fine for me - bed was comfy

Mike the manager and his staff are really nice and you can tell they care about South Sea and appreciate the people who come there, despite there being bigger resorts around.

We did this on a half day cruise and it was amazing. Even though it's only 30 min from Denarau it was lovely. The BBQ lunch was amazing with plenty of food and open bar was a bonus. It was well organised and the perfect little island trek for those who aren't staying on the islands. Fun.

I base this review entirely on the backpackers accommodation, and not so much on the day time experience. When all the day-trippers and families leave the island to go back to the main land, a few of us backpackers are left behind to stay the night. All in one dorm. In the most expensive dorm of our entire trip around the Yasawa islands. 32 beds are crammed into the room, and two bathrooms. The dinner wasn't great. It was three courses, first was the most watery 'soup', then the driest steak (which I suspect was left over from lunch) and a dessert that not many people touched. Breakfast was a measly attempt of cheap cereal and toast, and watery scrambled eggs. So far nothing lived up to the price we were paying. I found some, not all, of the staff a bit rude and fed up looking. Then when 9am came around, and all the day trippers arrive, the island transforms- staff are more friendly, the food -a BBQ lunch- was a hundred times better. So, go for the day- if you find yourself with some spare time on the mainland, but as a backpacker- maybe skip it.

South sea Island is so small you can walk around it in 10 minutes. It is absolutely beautiful. Snorkeling is recommended here. You stay in a dorm which is all right, you get food in your stay- package, and all water sports gear (except scoops diving) is for free to hire.

It was absolutely wonderful to stay here:)
