We loved our stay at Palacio del Inka. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a historic building built by the Incas prior to the Spanish invasion. The hotel was not ultra modern -- it maintained the character of an older historic building while still providing all the amenities we needed/wanted, including a lush spa. We had a suite with a bedroom and separate living room with table, desk and chaise lounger, with each room having its own balcony with a view of the Qurikancha bell tower and Cusco hills. The hotel offered a free Pisco making class at the bar and a hotel tour. The night we attended the tour, there was also a musical performance using instruments made out of natural materials, traditional to the Incan people (seeds, feathers, clay, wood, etc.) We also spent a couple of hours relaxing at the spa. The breakfast buffet was A+, with the usual suspects in addition to a few rotating traditional Peruvian dishes, and a menu in case you want something other than the buffet. The hotel is less than a 5-minute walk from Plaza de Armas, and in the relative center of the city.
