From the moment you enter the courtyard of the hotel with its golden crystal array behind the check in desk, you know you are somewhere special. The building is a wonderful old convent with columns around a courtyard, and the warm architecture with fireplaces all around is inviting. Great breakfast. Terrific place to use your points, even upgraded to a lovely room with balcony overlooking the courtyard. Inca ruins in the basement next to an attractive spa with relaxation pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi open to all guests. If you need oxygen for the 11,000 ft altitude, they pipe it into your room through the air conditioner. First rate.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Wifi free if you are a Marriott points member.

Is this really a JW Marriot? What universe am I in? The hotel is nothing special. Small rooms and very expensive that happens to be in a good location with the JW Marriot name.

The restaurant/ bar staff was an absolute joke. We waited over 75 minutes for our food when we were the only customers. Had the worst pisco sour I've ever had. Almost all foam.

This place is absolute disgrace to be called a JW Marriot when the one in Lima is infinitely better. The one in Lima is in a different universe

Room was a tad small, but very comfortable and the beds are....wow. Great views, good service, the grounds are beautiful. They pump oxygen into the bedrooms, which helps you sleep at night. The courtyard is well maintained and quiet. I loved the teas ready for you at the front desk, when you arrive. Staff was always there to help.

Our waiter at dinner was so attentive and nice. I think his name was Alex? Thanks Alex.

Breakfast (which was included with our government rate) was ridiculous. Everything you could ever want to eat. All included. All fresh.

Would love to visit again.

Room Tip: I liked our view of the street, but next time, I would choose a courtyard view.

Dear dreajohnson66,

Thank you so much for your comments!

I am happy to know you enjoyed the comfortable bed in your room even though some of the rooms are a bit small because of the previous colonial architecture we respect. I am happy to know too that you loved the hotel, our modern facilities like oxygent supllement, the hotel grounds and the amazing service we give, our details like the tea station at front desk and our delicious buffet breakfast perfect to start the day!

I hope you can come back soon and give us the opportunity to welcome you back with open arms.

Kind Regards,

The hotel was our base for our discovery of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. We do not think there is a better hotel within many hundreds of kilometers. Their people really made us feel at home, Brian, Alvaro and Diana helped us in many, many ways. Always there, never oppressive, just making sure guests feel at home. With several small attentions or special meal deal for two also. The PirQa (?) restaurant was fantastic. Just a bit (not even a lot) more expensive than the surrounding, more touristy places, but the food!!! This would hold its own in a first class European restaurant in London or even Paris. They sure have one talented chef. No wonder Peruvian cooking is in fashion nowadays. What else.. it is a restored historic building so the rooms are not always super big, but very comfortable. Everything oozes quality, very clean, good beds and well serviced. The rooms with a balcony on the courtyard are really nice! No outdoor pool but the climate in Cusco is too chilly due to the height so that would be useless. And if you go there, don't miss the special section in the basement next to the health club where they have modified the building to display the antique foundation and some finds during restauration, probably Cusco's least know little museum. It is also very central in Cusco old town, almost everything in easy walking distance. Dear people, you made a European couple very happy!

Room Tip: Free, fairly fast Wifi when booking direct through the site. Courtyard balcony rooms are particularly nice.

I am so happy to know you consider there is no better hotel than us, we work hard to give the best of us and you could feel that through the staff attentiviness, the are passionate and service oriented, making your overall experience their overall purpose being authentic and cordial with their special local touch.

I am so glad to know you loved our exquisite food at Pirqa Restaurant, it is hard to choose from the menu we use the best products and our kitchen team is brilliant! I truly apprecite your great comments about the food. It is good to know you loved your room comfort as you said we are located in the formers Agustine's convent where also some Pre Inca and Inca remains where found so we had to respect and restore to presenve them and make axhibition areas but also that made us change the plans and hotel distribution, but we feel totally proud of having part of Cusco history inside.

Your review is going to be shared with all the hotel associates because I am sure it will serve as a motivation for all of us

We loved this hotel! The people are super helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and food was good. The spa was the best part. Very relaxing before and after we trekked through the Andes Mountains. I would suggest getting the coupon code online, we got a great discount.
