We have eaten in Pucara on numerous occasions - both lunch and dinner. It is a very popular cafe, especially with Japanese tourists and during lunch. A number of the menu items are aimed to cater for the Japanese e.g. Udon noodle. They even have the menu in Japanese. Don't be surprised you walk in and think you are in Japan.

The food is good and inexpensive compared to other places in Cusco. However, the standard can be inconsistent. On one occasion, I had vegetable sautéed with rice and it was great with lots of vegetables. A week later I ordered the same dish but this time a lot of french fries were used to make up the portion of vegetables. I like chicha morada but theirs seem to have sugar added in as it is much sweeter than other chicha morada I had. The list of soups you can have is extensive.

Most people in our tour group ate here on one of our free nights at the recommendation of our tour guide. We all enjoyed our dinners. I love the purple corn drink, chicha morada, and theirs was very good. The atmosphere is casual, and the food has a lot of Peruvian specialties including Cuy. Great soups. Not expensive and located right in the center of the old town.

This was our first night in Cusco and we were advised to have a light meal. This is the place to come for soups. We chose the Creole and Low-fat chicken soups which were tasty and satisfying. For these dishes the service was prompt and thee bill very reasonable at 45 solos with water and bread.

This restaurant is very basic-looking, right off the main square - and they make delicious grilled trout! Our guide suggested we give it a try and we're so glad we did. All our meals were tasty, generous portions and friendly service (though a bit Latin/slow). They have several Peruvian dishes that also looked delicious and are highly recommended. $50 US for 3 people including beers.

Fresh, home cooked food. Best fried chicken I've ever had, sopas were delicious, salad full of fresh herbs and avocado. Wish I could have eaten here every night. Close to Plaza de Armas. Service is not fast because they make everything fresh, totally worth the wait.
