The hotel, in a beautifully renovated Art Deco building, is very well situated some 15 mins walk to the funicular and a few mins from Baquedano metro station (13 stops on the red line to Pajaritos for those wishing to catch the bus to Valparaiso). Rooms are small but ours was very well fitted with contemporary furnishings, a large TV, storage space, a safe, and best of all, a huge and extremely comfortable bed (wider than Superking in size). The bathroom was equipped with a rain shower that worked very well. Two small bottles of water daily are complimentary. Unfortunately our room had no outlook but given the time we spent in it, we didn't mind. There is a tiny rooftop swimming pool (large tub might better describe it) adjacent to the rooftop restaurant along with a sauna and bar affording good views over the city. We ate dinner and lunch there and it was tasty and offered decent value (you get 15% off the bill as hotel guests). Breakfast is taken downstairs and was the best we experienced in Chile. Beautifully presented in a lovely room, there was a wide choice of cereals, breads, yoghourt, mixed fruit, jams, cakes, etc. Orders were taken for eggs prepared to your choice.
