With all of the street murals I thought that the art in the museum would be quite illustrious. Not so, except for the sculptures, which were moderately impressive. The paintings were far less than impressive, not nearly as captivating as the street artists. The museum is free, and worth the walk thru, but not particularly impressive in my opinion.

This museum is definitely worth a visit! Situated right in the heart of Santiago's Bella Artes District and across from a lovely park, the museum hosted a wealth a wonderful artwork, statues and contemporary pieces. It's lovely to just walk through on your own, or you can do a free tour, which would be good if you don't speak Spanish, as most of the explanations on the artwork are in Spanish. Lovely museum and highly recommended.

Not much to see here, but at least it is free (as long as you don't need to store a bag). Most of the exhibits do not have English descriptions.

we expected a bit more from a national art museum.
The main hall has a lot of sculptures, mainly copies of the originals.
Upstairs and basement are a lot of local artist displayed, which is good. Most big museum don't support a lot of local artist.
