For 165 Canadian a day plus various taxes, our expectations were blown out of the water. We wanted a hotel is a safe area, in walking distance to old Santiago and the shopping and restaurant areas. By shopping we mean streets filled with people displaying their wares. As we wanted to be able to walk to museums, old churches and other historic points in Santiago. The location and safety issues turned out pefect. However we also wanted a nice hotel with lots of comfort. So we picked an old historic five star hotel that was famous many years ago. I picked it so I just tell you I was a bit tense when we walked into the hotel. Our first impressions were good. Beautiful large spaces and you check in at a desk sitting down. We then went to our floor and walked down the stately slightly gloomy hallways. When I opened the door, I realized that we had hit the jackpot. This is a hotel I will stay at again. The room was quiet. We ordered the breakfast with our room. I highly recommend that you do so as the breakfasts were to die for. The coffee was the best in the city and the food choices was varied and very good. For those who want to dull the senses in the morning; there was champagne. The location is perfect. The hotel was great. The wifi worked extremely well....More
