Description: BAKALAKI Greek Taverna dishes out Greek cuisine at its best. Located in the heart of Tiong Bahru, this restaurant and taverna is Singapore's latest Mediterranean hotspot, enriching the city's increasingly sophisticated food scene through the exploration of the rich culinary history and fabulous offerings of the Eastern Mediterranean. BAKALAKI offers the best from regional producers, as traditional ingredients are sourced from authentic Greek suppliers. Taking pride in their culinary traditions, the restaurant also serves authentic seafood specialities from the Mediterranean basin, and a unique selection of Greek wines and beers, that are loved by generations. The Greek heritage and culture is not only encapsulated in the flavour of the food and drink, but also comes through in the welcoming Hellenic nature of the Taverna. Greek culinary treats can also be purchased to take home, and are made available at the restaurant's deli. These delicacies include cheeses, olives, honey, pulses, sauces, herbs, traditional sweets and Greek wines. Both the restaurant and deli are open seven days a week.

We were already fans of Greek food, but this sinner was totally a cut above. It was a Monday night, yet the place was totally packed -- and we soon found out why! We started off with some delicious traditional dips, warm haloumi, and spanakopita, followed by some exceptional seafood - juicy tiger prawns, plus delicious octopus, and fish. As if all that wasn't enough, the food festival continued with a Spalobrizola, cooked to perfection and weighing almost 1kg. All paired with some excellent wines recommended personally by George, one of the owners and a fantastic host! After such a feast there was no way we could manage dessert, so the very tempting-looking baklavas will have to be for next time!

Came with no reservations on a Sunday two weeks ago. Didn’t get to sit indoors and got placed outdoors in the furthest seat.

However, from door host to server, they were attentive to our needs and very friendly.

For mains, we ordered the moussaka and paidakia skara, which were both superb, to say the least. For dessert, we got to try the loukoumades, halva and their must-try baklava. Food is a strong 5/5 from us!

We had a great time with Bakalaki and would recommend it to our friends!

We’ve been here twice and last time took guests from out of town, as we couldn’t stop raving about how much we enjoy this restaurant.
The food, service and ambiance is all great, it is even busy on a Tuesday night - so do make a reservation. I also discovered they have off menu a fabulous vegetarian moussaka, so don’t be shy to ask them what other veggie dishes they have.
I look forward to returning!

We enjoyed a patio dinner at this wonderful restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to fit us in on the lovely patio cooled by large ceiling fans. The waiter was very attentive. The service was wonderful. We tried several appetizers. Spanakopita and dolmates. The Greek salad was amazing. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers onions and a large piece of feta. I had the rice stuffed tomatoes and peppers. Fantastic. Portions were a good size. Baclava was amazing. Best I have had. They also brought us a complimentary dessert of yogurt with honey and nuts.
The atmosphere was upscale, airy and beautiful. A must go to restaurant
