I had dinner at Ah Yat in March. We had a set menu that cost just under $S400 for 10 of us. It was a value for money meal with fantastic dishes including: a whole lobster cooked with ginger and spring onions, huge Chinese mushrooms with big chunks of whole abalone, fried fish in a delicious sauce, fresh snappy crisp snow peas and Peking duck.
The wait staff was responsive and helpful and that always helps as well.
The only problem is that the main restaurant is undergoing renovations so we were at a longish room on the 4th floor which used to be their private rooms. But the holding room was clean and whilst the decorations were bare, the food more than made up for the place.
Worth a visit.
