Ok pros are the staff and restaurant food. Cons are one bedside table one coat hanger and no refrigerator or mini bar in a Deluxe room? Are you serious. You can request a refrigerator though. The owner needs to spend a night in some of his rooms to see what his customers can see. This could be number one but for the lack of attention to detail and maintenance in the rooms.

Originally booked into another hotel and was not happy with conditions of hotel found Aloha off one of the side streets on White beach between Station 2 and 3. They had a room available and no prebooking was required. Spent 3 nights and was extremely happy. Very modern, Clean, rooms serviced everyday and great service.
Hotel hot water runs on electricity and great water pressure. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast was great and offered a variety.
No pool or Gym in hotel but you don't require that when your in Boracay plenty of water activities available to keep you busy and a great beach.
Four Star Hotel.
For 3 nights we paid $640 for room with two double beds in total (breakfast included).
Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

Considering the price we paid during high season, this hotel is not too bad. However, there is a lot to work on - and at one point it felt so overwhelming that I just wanted to pack my luggages and leave.

The room: We were assigned rooms on the ground floor. The path in front of the rooms is very busy since it is continuously used by the employees and there is no privacy at all unless you leave your curtains closed and stay in the dark the whole time - the room really felt like a cave at some point. There is no cover above the door so if it rains, be ready to get wet. And be ready to get wet to reach the hall as well, as they put a plastic cover around it to avoid the water to come into the hall, basically partially closing the path to the ground floor rooms. Obviously, there were no umbrellas in the room, even though when we asked the reception we were told they should have been there (would be nice if the room could have been checked properly beforehand). And in case you did not get wet enough, rain was running copiously inside the room from the walls (we notified them about this issue and they said they would have fixed it). Just hope it does not rain :-)

The toilet: For some unknown reason to man the toilet paper holder was placed so far from the toilet that... It just made no sense whatsoever. The toilet cover was even the wrong size for it... Small details that when fixed could definitely improve one’s comfort.

Room service: On the first day, no bathroom carpet was provided - we just thought it was the standard but one magically appeared on our third day. Basically the whole room service was really erratic: sometimes you get no coffee, and sometimes they even leave towels on the floor. I believe we had a proper room service on one day only during our 5 nights stay.

What made me want to run away: The lack of sleep. There were loud working noises in the morning, starting at 7am. I pretty much overlooked this during the whole stay as it was not the hotel’s fault, but one night there was a power outage and the emergency lights turned on in the middle of the night waking us up (the lights are placed *right in front of the bed* - even the picture is disturbing, but can you imagine them shining brightly in your face at 4am?). We could not sleep at all from then, as we could hear people shouting, singing and playing music from the hotel’s kitchen bordering our room. After getting to the reception to ask if the voices could at least be lowered, there was some quiet for a bit - but only until 7am when it is apparently accepted to turn on the music again and get back to singing.

On the bright side: Wi-fi is stable and we ate better than we slept. The restaurant is good, and the service very polite.

Overall, given the price, the structure is acceptable. What is definitely not acceptable, is the noise coming from some of the Aloha’s employees in the early morning.

Room tip: Avoid rooms on the ground floor

Look, the people are lovely and they’re trying their best to work with they’ve got. The owner has clearly cheaped out on a lot in terms of maintenance and renovations. The first room I was assigned smelled of a turpentine like odor, maybe just too much chemical in the cleaner, but no hair dryer, no balcony and that’s what I requested. An immediate request to relocate was honored quickly and for that I was grateful. I like my deluxe balcony room, though it really looks much nicer in the hotel pics. The sinks in the bathroom though, seriously need attention. Manager was great and dealt with our complaints professionally and courteously. Owner, stop being so cheap!

We came here after we've been stranded in a port in Caticlan because of bad weather but we are very fortunate that we are still able to use our booking even we cancelled it. They gave us room upgrade into a Suite since the room we booked are no longer available. This place is comfortable and only around 2 to 3 mins walk to the beach.

Room tip: Try the burger Donut (not sure if this is the name) in their restaurant it taste good!

Dear Glenn D,

First of all, Thank you very much for the positive review and we are delighted that you find our property a very good place to stay and making it your home away from home. It is very unfortunate that there is a typhoon bombarding the island of Boracay when you made your reservation with us. Hence, we hope that this will not hinder you from visiting us again in the future to enjoy the great beach of Boracay and the exemplary service of our OHANA (family) way of service. Please look for me the next time you decide to visit Boracay and maybe we can have lunch or dinner together at our Aloha Island Grill Restaurant. Looking forward o meeting you again!

Sincerely,
Glenn de Manuel
