We have been visiting Boracay over the past 20+ years. Each time we stay at Mandarin we enjoy a fabulous experience. Despite the passing years, the owner has maintained the rooms and amenities and has continued to add new features. The hotel mantains its fresh clean luxurious feel and still feels like it was recently built.

On our arrival, we were personally welcomed by the owner and her staff. We stayed in the pool side rooms. Our rooms had been greatly improved by the recent renovations. The lovely king sized beds with canopy and fabulous spacious bathrooms were still there, but additional things have been added as well. The sitting area, the "drinks station", the amazingly soft bedding (WOW!), have made the room feel quite luxurious. We actually did not use some of the features as we spent more time outside enjoying the fabulous island, but it was wonderful to return back to our lovely room.

Our friends stayed in a view room upstairs, and I understand they were quite happy with their room as well. It was important for my family to be next to the pool, so the hotel ensured everyone had a room based on their preferences. There is some difference in price. If you need separate beds, you may wish to check with the hotel so you know which rooms to book.

My son and I greatly enjoyed the beautiful pool right outside our door. The pool still feels brand new after all the years which tells of the great effort the staff put into the care and the upkeep. We did miss the beautiful plumeria flowers falling into the pool, as was the case before, but we do understand that this had to be taken out to keep the pool nice. The pool is only 4 ft. deep so works very well for kids. There is also a shallow kiddy pool on the restaurant side.

The Don Vito restaurant (part of the hotel) offers a wide variety of dishes. As vegetarians we were able to find plenty of things to enjoy. Evening meals are accompanied by live music, and we were grateful for their selections of calm and easy listening songs :-) This contributed to the relaxed environment. Since the rooms face the beach and the restaurant, you should not plan to sleep before 10 pm, as music does go on till then.

Hotel breakfast (included in the rate) was served at the table (rather than buffet style of the past), and staff ensured they had our preferences and selections each night before, so they could serve it at breakfast time. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate our group, and noone was disappointed. We did splurge and added fresh mango shakes each morning.

We availed of the hotel transfer service, which made it a LOT easier not having to worry about various steps of the transfer (ground/boat/ground). In the past we did all of this ourselves, but after calculating the difference (after accounting for all the environmental, etc. fees), we figured, we would just consider this a part of our transportation budget, and enjoy the easy arrival and departure.

The beach in front of the hotel is everything you have dreamed of and more. Be sure to bring sunblock and just immerse yourself in the luxury that is Boracay!

If you plan on water activities, beware of how motion affects you before planning these. We greatly enjoyed our sunset sailing (although be clear with the captain on how much time you are getting - our middle man promised an hour, but the captain had us back in 35 minutes). The island hopping tour on somewhat rough waters made several of us feel rather queezy. Having been to Boracay many times, I never took the time for this four-hour tour - in retrospect - that was the wise choice :-)

Back to the hotel - great thanks to ALL of the staff - each of them genuinely desired for us to enjoy our experience - and we most certainly did. Just like at our honeymoon 21 years ago, the hotel went above and beyond to make this a memorable celebration. Before we even left, my youngest son asked, when are we coming back!

You do not need to look any further - you already found an awesome place to enjoy your holiday on Boracay!

Room tip: Pool side includes deluxe and regular - regular works just fine unless you need extra space.

Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel is a beachfront luxury hotel at the center of white beach. It has a large swimming pool, the Don Vito Ristorante Italiano and a high end spa, all right on the beach. All rooms are fitted with luxurious beds, goose-feather and fiber pillows, plush comforters, air conditioners, cable TV, mini-bar, safety deposit box, tea and coffee making facilities, luxury bathroom fixtures, and complimentary Wifi access. Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel is top class throughout, and their attention to detail from welcome drinks and cold towel, waiter service on the beach, and general five star service throughout, makes this one of the island’s top resorts.

The staff gives this hotel the 5 star rating it deserves. The live band choices, delicious food, the pool, and breathtaking view right outside your balcony were bonuses and made for an unforgettable vacation. I highly recommend getting the package that included airport van transfer and speed boat. You will be away from the crowd for a small price difference without the hassle.

The location was perfect and I cannot say it enough.

The best hotel in station 2. Great food and service. Catherine on the front desk is very accommodating and helpful. In their restaurant Don Vitto, Luna and Edpol are very welcoming and attentive to what customers need.

you can watch the sunset from their restaurant and have breakfast right along the beach.
