When I travel, I always opt for the cool, boutique-y places where they pay real attention to design, good food and where the staff are allowed to have their own personality. Watercolors just simply ticks all these boxes.

Been to Boracay twice and those 2 times I stayed at Watercolors simply because their service and quality never disappoint!

*SERVICE – 5 out 5

Service is on point. The staff is very knowledgeable so you can always rely on them to give you good pieces of advice about the island. Always smiling, polite and conversational. Gretchen is the star of the team. She makes sure you are always looked after and even books excursions on your behalf when you’re there. You can also ask them to book transfers for you to and from the airport.

*LOCATION – 5 out of 5

We wanted somewhere quiet but still within walkable distance to the more happening areas of White Beach. Watercolors is perfectly located in Station 1 as it’s right in front of the beach near Willy’s Rock yet far away from the hundreds of tourists that hog the beach at Stations 2 and 3. You can enjoy both the quiet side and the nightlife of Boracay at Watercolors.

*ATMOSPHERE – 4 out of 5

It’s a boutique hotel as I mentioned and the room sizes are quite compact but the décor is very warm, sleek and modern. The stone wall in the bathroom is my favorite detail! Rooms are always clean and fresh and the hotel music is surprisingly good.

*FOOD – 5 out of 5

Now comes the good stuff. Been in the hospitality industry for years and we know for a fact that you can judge if a hotel is good if they have good coffee! Watercolors not only serves good coffee but they know food! Sadly, Boracay has a scarcity of restaurants that pay attention to good quality food, locally sourced produce and fresh ingredients. So when we were looking for a good seafood restaurant, we were quite disappointed and frustrated that the restaurants by the beach offer either overcooked, overpriced, or days old seafood!

Luckily, we asked the restaurant staff at Watercolors and they bought fresh seafood from the local market and cooked for us! We had lobsters, tiger prawns, fish and salmon – YUM!

Also, their Adobo is phenomenal!

Room tip: Get the seaview room - totally worth it!

Great shop - great Polish guy. Went with a Mexican friend. Did a couple of dives with him. Everything was good. Really took the time to gave us a memorable experience. Shop has a hot shower and the staff is very kind. It was a great choice!

We recently stayed 1 week.

The food is fabulous, the drinks are cheap, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers hot, the scuba diving is plentiful, and the sunsets are to die for!

It’s also walking distance to the more crowded areas of the island and the party spots.

But the staff really do make this place! From the moment you wake up to the time you go to sleep they are always there with huge smiles, and amazing stories to tell.

Being a small hotel interacting with the other guests is also easy.

I really recommend the beachfront room.

I can honestly say, Watercolors is one of my favourite accommodations I have stayed in all my travels.

Thanks for making my 33rd birthday very memorable.

Extra tip - organise your airport transfers and daily activities through the hotel , they have cheap prices and amazing service on this.

Fantastic, friendly, Diving Center. My girlfriend and I completed our advanced diving course consisting of 5 dives. Our instructor, Filip, was very thorough, calm and excellent teacher. We really enjoyed the individual dives learning the necessary techniques and seeing some really interesting scenery: airplane wreck, boat wreck, coral reef and even a couple of reef sharks! The team at the dive Center were fantastic as well, nothing was too much for them, they are always smiling and looked after us like family, special mention for Mhaya, Peter, John-Paul who we will miss

Did my advanced open water with Francisco, the long-haired macho Venezuelan brown fox lol. Super chill instructor which was what I needed for my vacation. Fun dude but also experienced like the perfect dive buddy. The night and wreck dives were my fav.

Resort itself was nice and small, which means you will get to know all the staff who are super friendly and nice. Location was perfect at Station 1, only a slight walk away from Station 2 & 3 where all the noise is at. Stayed in both the beach side and street side on diff nights. Love the beach view, it’s just right there. Highly recommended dive instructor and resort!

Kevin,

Thank you for your wonderful response, I am happy that you enjoyed taking the Advance Course and especially our dive to Camia 2 Ship Wreck and the night dive. I hope you enjoyed the black ghost pipefish in our dive to Camia. Also I hope you got great pictures of Tri-Bird Plane Wreck. Your breathing rate and buoyancy certainly improved a lot in the 5 dives of the AOW course.

I wish you all the best in your life in Singapore and if you ever get the itch to dive, remember we are just a short plane ride away. I wish you all the best to you and your wife and hope to see you soon.
