Here we go...

#1: It's FAR away from everything. Yes there is a shuttle that runs every hour, but it doesn't make it less far. It's still a 15 minute ride to Budget Mart assuming traffic is moving. Once you get to Budget Mart, you still have a 5 minute walk to the beach (you will be in Station 2).

#2: Like many other people have said, there is no queen bed. It's just two double beds pushed together. Two double beds which are ridiculously uncomfortable.

#3: Initially checking in we were given a room at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor which was basically a extremely stinky closet. I couldn't stand the smell for more then 10 minutes. The A/C was very load and not cold, the room disgustingly dirty and the ceiling fan was about to fall out of the ceiling. We went to the desk and they did move us but they were not happy about it and far from friendly or hospitable.

#4: Our new room was still stinky but we had to deal with it. The A/C was even louder then before and still not cold, the was dust all over all the furniture, the shower water turns hot/cold while you are showering constantly, a piece under the sink broke almost immediately and made it hard to use the sink for all 3 days because it was not fixed.

#5: There is no safe in the room. You have to bring your belongings downstairs to the front desk and ask them to removed/add anything.

#6: The majority of the staff is not friendly and seem to care less they work in the hospitality business.

#7: You do have to buy internet if you want to use it in your room. In the lobby and cafe it's free but VERY slow. They say only 2 devices per purchase but this is a lie. If you use the same code and switch the room number to the room next door you can have internet on all devices.

#8: Breakfast is nothing special... neither is the overpriced food. They brought us food we didn't order the first night we were there and charged us for it when we left. Ridiculous.

#9: The view from the pool is nice but the pool is not clean or kept up well. My boyfriend found a piece of glass in the bottom.

#10: If you are still reading this and even considering staying here still you are an idiot who doesn't care about, service, being comfortable or cleanliness. Good luck!

This was my 2nd time to stay in Soffia Hotel. This time, I was with my six other friends and we stayed in 3 cabanas. As expected, a very welcoming reception staff greeted us as we approach the front desk. It was nice to hear the words "Welcome back!" with sweet smiles on the faces of the reception staff - feels like you are staying in your family home. I've met familiar faces in the reception, Richard, Cherry, Marnell and Marlon - consistently providing excellent customer service. Check in was quick and immediately assisted us to our assigned cabanas just outside the main building of the hotel. Our group decided to have dinner in the hotel since it was already late and we had a long day as we travelled from Carles (Iloilo). For our dinner, we ordered several Filipino dishes (Pinakbet with Bagnet, Sinagang na Baboy, Pansit, Sweet & Sour Fish. Serving portion is so generous and something to be shared. All the food we ordered were sooo yummy, when it comes to the price of the food item, it was reasonable comparable if you eat to Aristocrat or Max's. Included in our package was buffet breakfast, worth the money we paid for our stay. Every morning, I always look forward to having breakfast, everyday they offer different spread of hot food items in the buffet. Love the chicken adobo and crispy bacon. I would like to say thank you to all the breakfast staff for being attentive to our requests, most specially Ellaine for providing flawless service and she recognised me as returning guest in their property. One thing, I love about this hotel is the infinity pool. Our group loved the pool so much as we plunge into the water of the pool in one lazy afternoon overlooking the beauty of Boracay. As this was my second stay, I will not go into details about the facilities/rooms - I can absolutely say that I can see the consistent cleanliness of the room, it was spottless, well-maintained furniture. The only feedback I wanted to pass on to Housekeeping, please discard all the old to towels in the bathroom, please remove the towels that are already dirty white and with torn edges (see attached photos). This can be recycled into rugs which the room attendant can use in cleaning the room. Generally, our stay was excellent and given the chance, for the 3rd time, I will still stay in Soffia Hotel. Lastly, allow me to thank Art Gatdula, the hotel's general manager for the warm reception that was extended to our group during our short stay in Boracay - it was an excellent stay and wonderful experience again to be in Soffia Hote! Highly recommended hotel in Boracay if you are travelling on a budget. (Note: please see my first review of this hotel, providing detailed information about the facilities, room, dining and free shuttle van service going to Dmall in White Beach)

Room tip: Book the cabana for privacy and more room space with private veranda.

The hotel gave me ' two single room' for me and my bf, we had to put them together on our own. This is the most ridiculous joke I have ever experienced while traveling.

The hotel does not supply hair dryer, when they say they do on their website.

The hotel cooks almost the same thing everyday for breakfast.

One last thing that makes me angry the most was that when you borrowed hair dyer from them in the middle of night, they told you the hair dryer wasn't available at the moment and they did not know who borrowed from them. It was at midnight. They did not want to deal with my need, THEY EVEN HUNG UP ON THE PHONE. I went out to the lobby to check what the hell was the woman in the lobby doing. I saw her playing with her phone and listening to music loudly. IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT.

They must be too popular so that they did not give a damn or care if you could dry your hair in the middle of night, or you'd sleep with wet hair in a funky room with an AC that stopped on it own many times in the morning.

BTW, they'd tell you that they need to charge you if you use wifi in the room. The truth is that you can use the lobby wifi in your room FOR FREE.

RIDICULOUS

Great Place, Great Food and Great People❤️Hotel rates is average but you get a superb experience. Food is Manila price but worth it, servings are big and is really sumptuous. Staff are very hospitable. Pool is good for the family and you can capture the sunset. View is so refreshing.
If you want a quiet and peaceful vacation, you have to stay at Hotel Soffia. If you want to experience the busy Boracay, they offer a shuttle service every hour. No hustle in going to the Stations and going back to the hotel.
Keep it up guys. Kudos to Hotel Soffia Team.
Just a suggestion, for a more organized pick up at D-mall going back to the hotel. A placard with the hotel name might help all hotel guests with different nationalities be more disciplined in getting into the shuttle. Let the hotel guests fall in line. 😀 just a suggestion, added service for a better guest experience.
