This place has a cracking beachfront location, nice ambience, the best-trained staff (thanks to the diligent Dutch owner), duly attentive service, and high quality food...so why is it not rated higher? I think the answer lies in the prices. Our two-course dinner for two, with a bottle of house wine and Lapu Lapu main course, came to PHP 6,500. You normally sense what your final bill is going to be but this one came in at least 25% higher than my instincts told me. Perhaps I was influenced by previous meals here, when the restaurant had great fixed menus at good prices. Times have changed and now it’s going for the top price-point. So, although standards are high, prices are higher, and it is hard to recommend on the basis of value, which is why for me it is only 3/5, as the food just isn’t that much better than you get elsewhere. Having said that, there aren’t many places in Boracay which can match Al Fresco’s ambience, and if you go expecting to pay up, or you order carefully, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
Place is well priced(alittle on the highend) But with the beautiful location and great view, its definitely worth it. Dinner time, they have a nice selection of seafood which they charge based on the weight of your selected items.
Me and my fiance had a deilighful evebing here! We shared the fillipino share plate. You get rice and many different smal plates with typical filipino food and OH MY GODNESS this was such a great food experience! Very tasty and good food! The staff is also very kind and the live music (guitar) sets the atmosphere. Nicely placed at the beach. A very romantic resturant!
My 4 friends and I were in Boracay for just one week but still managed to eat here 3 times. The food is deciduous - choose your fish and they will steam it, grill it, fry it, roast it, cook it any way you want. Simple idea, perfectly executed.
The staff are very friendly, as always in the Philippines, especially Wanda who was very patient with the fussier (being polite) members of our party and so charming and professional. She made the place for us and we’re sorry we didn’t see you on our final night, understand there was a fire you needed to put out!
