There are a lot of pros and cons with our stay. On a good note, they seem to take social distancing and cleanliness very seriously, so it is appreciated that they sanitize guests hands before boarding the boat to the island. But they're not very consistent as no one was doing this when going back.
Good points
1. Some staff were awesome. Like Anton who checked us in and Eugene the lifeguard by Cobalt pool. He takes great photos.
2. Room was well designed. We had 2 rooms, 1 had the sea view which was great so opt for this choice if you can. Though it is a little more expensive.
3. Appreciate the hassle free transfers of their own boat.
4, free water!
Things to improve on
1. Ala carte food at Saffron. They offered to order our food in advance when we were in their welcome center. But the food wasn't really tasty considering their price!
Let's say all of us have different taste but I know my Rice. They served us undercooked rice! It was a little cup for 120-160 pesos and we didn't even finish it because there were uncooked grains.
They could have just been honest and told us that they ran out (as we ordered extra rice because the food portions were on the small-average size).
We also ordered the Bulalo for sharing. I think taste was average but the portion is too small...There are a lot of pros and cons with our stay. We were a bit traumatized by this so told our experience to the other resto In Azure.
Food quality was WAY Better! Rice was good portion and cooked right.
Glad we ate there otherwise our dining experience in Crimson would have been below average.
The place and beach is great but food is life.
2. Also tried the SPA
Service was excellent but was little put off with something. So I thought the 20% discount was a given-being a guest at the resort. So I prebooked mine and emailed them ahead of time that I will add a service for my sister. They've been in touch to set my appointment but Nobody told me that the discount was only available if I prepaid for it in advance in booking or thru their site. When I paid in the spa it was full price. So I guess the 20% AUM Spa I saw while directly booking for their site only if you book and pay for it in advance. It's Not a given if you stay there and suddenly decide to get a spa.
3. Checking out:
Check your bills when you leave. They charged me again for my prebooked spa. Always keep your receipts if you paid anything in cash or card as they will ask you to sign everything and ask for your room number.
They also send you this letter the night before you check out saying to be on time as the boat leaves promptly at 1200 otherwise you will have to make your own arrangements.
But yeah so we left at 1230. Because they have their own time and schedule.
4. Our room was missing some things. We appreciate that he moved us to a room to be close to our siblings but please give us Consistency. Our room did not have a soap dish and no electric kettle and tea bags. I saw that in the other room we booked they have these and so I requested for it. Again, consistency.
Have so many little things to add but in summary, they're doing a lot of things right but need to improve on a lot of things including attention to detail- considering the amount of money they charge.
