Absolutely amazing! We spent 15 days travelling the Philippines, staying at 5 hotels along the way. Boracay was our last stop and basically flipped a coin over staying at either Crystal Henann Sands and Discovery Sands. We landed on Crystal Henann however the day of checkout our flight was cancelled so we moved to Discovery Sands for two days until our revised departure. These two Hotels are not even remotely close in terms of standard so do not be fooled by the similarity of online ratings. Discovery is head and shoulders above and their attention to detail and level of service would challenge the highest possible standard around the world. The staff actually made us feel like we were the only ones staying there and all in such a sincere and caring manner. The ambience and energy of the hotel setting makes you feel like you were actually on a holiday and is only a short stroll away from the somewhat chaotic beach retail strip. If I could score our experience out of 10 it would 11.

Spacious and clean bed and baths! It has a swimming pool where you can take a quick dip if the beach is a little crowded at times or if the sun is too hot. We took our daughter for her first beach adventure, and it was a breeze - thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. They were also considerate and careful knowing that our toddler is very active. It could have been the best if all the instructions prior to our flight were noted - we were particular with our request of one large k/q size bed (instead we got two single beds) However, they sure did make it up to us and made the adjustments. We will definitely go back. We brought our stroller and it has a ramp so it was easy for us to stroll.

Room tip: Less noise on the GF

As always, we had a delightful stay at Boracay Sands Hotel. Good to see familiar faces at the lobby and hallways of the hotel. I discovered that their Halo Halo is so cheap at P160 but can be shared by 2-3 people. Perfect for the excruciating summer heat. We availed their promo rate of P3500 per night with buffet breakfast for 2 persons. Fabulous rate for a frontbeach resort. Room was clean and as always, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Planning for our next visit in August.

I stayed at Astoria then at Sands! I can tell you for the price you pay for at Astoria for a windowless room, Sands is a winner! Great clean room with a beautiful terrace and view!

The hotel offer a shower with hot water, tv with cable, AC, a mini fridge and all the other basics...

Compared to Astoria, the breakfast at Sands is a joke though and the service is not as good as in Astoria. Pickup service is done with either a van or tricycle and a boat. Overall for a 4 star hotel it’s okay I guess! Would gladly stay again though! Affordable for a good location

So good to be back to a cleaner Boracay. By the way, make sure you have a copy of your hotel booking confirmation otherwise you will not be allowed to enter the island. And we are now billeted in our favorite beach front resort, Boracay Sands Hotel. I think this is already my 4th or 5th stay here. They did an awesome renovation with the lobby and there is now a security door beside the Front Desk. Only legitimate guests with key cards can access these doors, cool! They also refurbished the rooms and added a retractable clothesline in the shower room. As usual, cleanliness is top-notch, Staff are as friendly as our previous visits. 2 new favorites here, their Halo Halo and Dynamite (chili roll stuffed with meat perfect with iced cold beer). Last night but we have already booked for a return visit in May and September.
