Stayed at this lovely place for almost a week. The bed in the shared dorm was excellent and woke up refreshed for the island hopping adventures every morning.

They helped me book tours departing from Corong-Corong beach just close by with great guides! The breakfast before departure was very convenient aswell.

The family running the hostel were always helpful and happy to suggest activities!

I'm grateful for my time here, and though it's a bit out of town, I found many local restaurants on the highway close by that served excellent and affordable food!

The rooms still have a bit weird smell as the place is so new. Corong corong area is better than El Nido if you appreciate good sleep (very quiet room, even though the hostel beside the main road). Helpful staff - e.g. they arrange island hoping tours etc. Short walk to the Corong corong beach.

Internet is pretty bad and they have just one WiFi -station, which covers only a part of the house. If you need to book something, take the wifi box to the rooftop in very early morning. However. the wifi is extremely poor in whole El Nido, and works (best/at all) in the early mornings.

We stayed 3 nights in a standard double. As soon as we entered the room we could smell mould which was growing on the ceiling. There were no windows preventing any ability to vent the room. The bathroom bin had not been emptied. The room was in need of updating. Workmen were still laying the floor on the roof deck - the public area where breakfast is served. No wifi available in any areas. There was a blackout on our final morning and no backup generator. We had no hot water, lighting or air con as a result - take a torch as with no window you're in the dark!

Hello,
We thank you for writing a review of Island Hop Nido Hostel. First of all, we sincerely apologize for the above-mentioned circumstances that have upset you during your stay at our hostel. We fully recognize them and we will definitely take corrective measures to prevent the recurrence of these mishaps.

As for the WiFi, it usually works during the less busy hours in the common areas such as the lobby and the roof deck. Bad internet connection is a general problem in El Nido and we are still waiting for the network providers to cater us with much better internet.

As for the generator set, we will surely avail of it. Generator sets cost high and we find it difficult to have one transported in El Nido but it is definite for us to get one for the convenience of our guests during the (thankfully) rare blackouts in the town.

Once again, we thank you for this constructive review for this will greatly help us in the coming days. We will take appropriate actions for the improvement of the hostel and will continue to serve our guests with enthusiasm.

We wish you a safe travel.

It is a new hostel, unfortunately with a weird smell in the rooms (maybe the paint?). For the first night they had to give us a different room, because the one we booked online was already occupied. For the next days we got another room. There were some problems with the shower, which could be fixed. The manager did her best, but for the price we paid (2200 pesos/night) we expected a much better hostel.
