Great Beach Resort

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Mar 13, 2024
This is my first time to Palawan and have always wanted to visit here. It's about a 3 hour drive from Puerto Princesa, but very convenient to El Nido Proper. My friend booked this hotel and hotel rates for 4 nights were unbelievably inexpensive! Prior to this trip, I came in blind with no research into what was in store for this new experience. I came in completely blind and just went with the flow.
Upon checking in, I'm blown away with how close this resort is to the beach. It's a completely beach style resort type of hotel with a variety of rooms, Bungalows, and different types of rooms depending on how many people are in the group.
Hotel Amenities include swimming pool, no Fitness Center, complimentary breakfast at the pool side restaurant, 24/7 front desk with concierge service for booking activities, a gift shops and private beach access.
The room my friend booked was a Bungalow. Room was furnished with a King Size Bed, air conditioning, in-room safe, single bathroom, mini refrigerator with a ton of ala carte alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. There's also outdoor lanai seating area with a cold water whirlpool which I thought was a jacuzzi, complimentary WiFi, plenty of closet space, and the most important item is an electronic big zapper!
Hospitality service is excellent. Spa features services which me and my friends enjoyed after a day of excursion. I didn't mind that our massages were in an open-air lanai, while the bugs weren't bothering me, they were biting others in my group lol.

Dear Alvin,

Thank you for your detailed and enthusiastic review! We're thrilled to hear that your first visit to Palawan was such a positive experience and that you were impressed with our beachside location and variety of accommodations.

It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the amenities, including the pool, complimentary breakfast, and our concierge service. We’re glad you liked the bungalow with its features and found the hospitality service excellent.

We’re sorry to hear about the bug issue during your spa experience and will work on improving that aspect. We hope to welcome you and your friends back for another fantastic stay in the future!

Experience for 3 nights

Really nice place with rats in the ceiling. They run and making noise during the night so you can enjoy a great concert or also imagine a boxing fight between rats.
The best thing is even if you ask the reception to do something, they don’t care at all but pretend to be, nice acting !

At least we had a great discount of 8€ on a total of 290€ amount, it worth it 🎉
So generous and professional

Room tip: There is no reel shower, no bedside table, no bedside lights

We had a great time at Coco Resort. Room is spacious and different from the usual rooms had we stayed in a hotel. The bed is so huge, we love it Food is great. Service from check-in to check-out were seamless. We enjoyed everyrhing about our stay. It's a little gem of a place.

Room tip: Small bills would be handy. Have them ready for going around places 😉

We stayed at El Nido Coco Resort for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. The resort is very lush and well kept – especially the pool. Which we used daily. It was a short walk to our rooms (bungalow by the beach) but did not mind it at all! Having your own bungalow and front porch was great, as it gave us privacy and a relaxed space.
Location is good (assuming you want something less busy). it was a short tricycle ride to town and Las Cabanas Beach but also away from the crowds. Walking distance to restaurants and bars.
Room was decent size and clean. Aircon worked great! We didn’t watch much TV (for obvious reasons) but it did have a few English channels.
They offer massages by the pool which was nice to have.
The power went out once, but it went back on after a few mins – think they have a generator. Which was very helpful as outages in this island happens occasionally.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hospitality was above and beyond - really appreciated it. I would stay here again and it’s a great price for an April stay.

This is a nice resort, quiet, picturesque, with a relaxed beach vibe. The facilities are spread out which results in nice privacy, but can mean a bit of a walk to your room, especially for bungalows next to the beach. The beach offers a nice view of the bay and is the site for the beach bar which also serves as a restaurant. Everything available at the main restaurant located by the pool can also be ordered at the beach bar. The restaurant has a good selection.

My only problem with the resort is the reception staff. When shown to our bungalow, it was immediately obvious it was not the "Sea View Bungalow" that I'd booked, but one of their standard bungalows, which differ both by location/view and the decor/amenities in the room. I went back to the office to inquire about the room switch, and was simply told that the room I booked was already occupied and the room I got was what was available. End of story. No apology, no offer to refund the price difference or compensate me in any way. At this point I contacted customer service of the booking website I'd used, who were very helpful in contacting the property. Soon, the manager informed me that they would refund 1/2 of the room price, a satisfactory solution. Unfortunately it took outside help, the hotel staff were unwilling to help until then.

Aside from that one glitch, we had a nice stay.

The tropical garden is beautiful, with the restaurant’s veranda, the pool and the bungalows all around it. Staff are nice, very helpful and polite.
The location is also good in Corong corong, with pool and bar on the beach, only five minutes tricycle ride from busy El Nido as well as from beautiful Las Cabañas beach, but with a few nice restaurants and bars nearby, so everything is somehow close.
The bungalows around the pool seem good quality, with lovely verandas.
The “beach bungalows” are outside the garden, along a lovely path that leads to the beach bar. They are quite basic and a bit rundown, would help to have some extra items of furniture to make them more comfortable, including a shower curtain, but are clean and decent. Perhaps the value for money is better for the garden bungalows than the beach bungalows.
Breakfast not the best, but there are quite a few choices as well as fruit.
Would come back for the location, the garden and the nice staff.
PS great massages available near the pool.
