We and especially the boys wanted to get out of Batangas City and were looking for opportunities. Manila closed, most resorts in Batangas closed but during our search we stopped at the LaLaguna in Sabang. We found the hotel trough internet and once we were hitting the site hotel started to chat with us. Found it quite convenient because within 15 to 20 Minutes most of the questions were clarified. Booking took place directly with the hotel. Advantages are earlier check in and late check out as well as some laundry included. Unfortunately, our first approach in April was canceled because the hotel had to close their doors due to governmental advice. We were very disappointed with the situation. The boys were also very sad. Of course, we understood that the hotel had to follow the advice. Hotel send the down payment back without any hurdles. However, 3 weeks later next approach and all went well. Booking was directly made with the hotel including pick up, boat transfer, room and food. The boat from Batangas was a private speed boat organized with the hotel. Please refer to their page all information’s are there. If information’s are not available get in touch with them and they are happy to answer without major delay. Departure port Berberabe near Batangas City. Momentarily you need Swab Test or RT PCR Test including Hotel invitation to leave that port. Needless to say that this may change at any time. Check with the hotel all details they are happy to assist. The boat transfer from Berberabe port to hotel took 45 minutes with a short stop over in Puerto Galera Port for entry registration and entrance fee of around 125 PHP p.p. Fever check and they checked also our COVID tests. You also need to leave home address and phone number. From there just a few minutes to the hotel with boat. The manager gave us a warm welcome and introduced safety rules and regulations. Afterwards we received our 2 BR villa which was simply perfect. 2 sleeping rooms, 1 living room, 2 bad rooms and the great balcony at the upper floors with a perfect view over the ocean. No any complains for the room. With the package we booked BF, lunch and dinner but drinks excluded. For us the food was very good. No any complains. Over the day we also consumed nice fresh fruit shakes and also some Banana splits. Most of the time we spent at the pool area and the boys went swimming all day long. The pool is ok and the hotel has sun lounger, sunshade and service at the pool. And we met again the magic bell button. That’s a fantastic invention we discovered in Korea. Seconds later if the bell button works waiter/waitress beside you ready to take the next order. The service personnel was always very friendly and tried at any time to furnish us with our needs. No complains at all. The hotel has a tip box at the bar area because all our drinks and eating’s were cash less. We have shown our appreciation over that small white box. Don’t miss it if you are there. The hotel also helped us to organize a day tour. We had our own vehicle, went to some water falls, a beach and kind of action park where we played paintball and driving mud quad bike. Thanks again to the hotel team for getting a Jeepney for that tour. That was the perfect ride and we had a lot of fun. The kuya driving the Jeepney was an excellent guide. We also felt a bit more comfortable with the Jeepney due to high air ventilation. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and we would come back at any time. Again, a great thanks to the service personnel and the management team. We hope that the hotel was also happy with us. Next time we probably will also try out scuba diving.
At the end I usually give a comment for parking, stroller and wheel chair. It reflects more our perceptions as it is based on true facts. And this feedback is more connected to the whole trip to Sabang as to the hotel only. No parking in and around the hotel. The trip is not recommendable so much with bigger stroller and not at all for wheel chair. For further information’s please contact directly the hotel and let them know your needs.
Just some small takeaways:
- Keep your receipts form the COVID test for the Mindoro QR code registration.
- The boat trip had to be paid with cash. Take some cash with you. We did not see many ATM´s.
- Don’t eat right in front of the boat trip if it is a speed boat and your stomach is sensitive.
- All the food and drink booking arrived at the personal e-mail for review a few hours after consumption
- Pool open 24/7
