Nestled on a hill 15 minutes from White Beach, Utopia is an ideal base on the island; private yet accessible. It’s only a few minutes from the island’s attractions, and is equipped with its transport service.
The 360-degree view from the property is marvelous, providing the perfect backdrop to the villas. There are less than 10 accommodation units, so it never gets crowded. As for beach access, there’s a trail that leads down to a secluded cove where beachcombing doesn’t involve fighting for space against other tourists and vendors are nowhere in signt—just peace and quiet, save for the few friendly locals who live nearby.
The rooms are all great, complete with amenities and features, like a tub and hot and cold shower. Most, if not all, of these spaces even feature ocean vistas. We stayed at the one-bedroom honeymoon suite (named Lily, I think) and could barely tear ourselves away from its cozy ambience. It helps, of course, that we had stunning views of the ocea from the large balcony and living area.
There’s plenty of food choices on the island, but the food in the resort’s restaurant shouldn’t be missed. The pizza and breakfast specials, in particular, are must-tries.
Service is also great, from the driver to the owner himself, who can be seen, getting busy around the property.
All in all, it’s an excellent place for those who want to enjoy the beauty of Puerto Galera in peace, comfort, and privacy.
Tips:
Visit the nearby Mangyan Village.
Have a party at the pool.
There’s an ATM by the entrance that accepts international cards, if needed.
